Natasha's Review - eek - long!

Ha Ha - you all will one day know what agony it is to wait for the damn pro photos.

Rebecca, that photo that I posted was #503! We weren't even through cocktail hour at that point. Wow - that's a lot of photos for Dino to go through!

Shawn and I actualy wrote our own ceremony - start to finish - so we decided not to have the judge and just have Maye officiate. I loved it.

I never really thought about getting married much as a kid, but I remember (now, after the wedding) once when I was a teenager sitting at a long, boring wedding thinking, "these things are all the same and they're getting preached to instead of saying what they are actually agreeing to - why don't people do their own?'' Now I'm really glad we went the route we did. The whole thing. Having it in Mexico, being barefoot on the sand, really limiting the guest list to our close friends and family... That's the only ceremony I would have wanted.

maye's husband is a minister and officiated our ceremony. We picked the standard vows that Maye had and we had him read the lace ceremony (but just didn't wrap the lace, etc. We just like the wording. It was funny, it must have been the first time th minister read the ceremony, because he kept fumbling over his words, almost like he kept losing his place on the page. A couple times there were long pauses in between sentences. One of which was when he said "Marc do you take..........(long pause)........................ (still pausing)........ Rebecca to be your lawfully wedded wife...".

Our ceremony was quick...someone clocked it at 6 minutes!!! I was thinking , it felt like at least 20! The guests weren't complaining thought, because it was HOT! Speaking of, I like the umbrella idea Natasha. Good thinking!

He didn't. I'll ping him. I think that, now, he's remembering all the good things and the bad have slipped away...

If you're considering CDM, let me know. I can give you a fair assessment. My recommendation will depend upon when you are wanting to have your wedding (if I really think the construction will be done by then) and the kinds of things that you want to do/care about. It really was the best setting for us - I wouldn't have picked another place given the look/feel which is what we and our guests ultimately remember. I would also say that none of our guests were aware of our issues and they all really liked the place and the service providers.
