what location did you choose for your reception? And have you heard any reviews on the menu options? We are going with the Silver Dinner package, because all the others have alot of seafood, just wondering if anyone has any experiences with that? We have opted for an earlier ceremony with the coordinator, and signing with the judge later on that day at 6:00pm, what time does the reception dinner start?or is this another decision I have to make? For the ceremony, I don't know whether to choose a beach ceremony or use the gazebo, and suggestions?

Sorry, I have a lot of questions...

thanks

Have you been to Debbie's Dominican Republic Travel Pages - 1,000's of Resort Reviews, Tour, Scuba and Wedding Information They have a DR wedding forum with literally a TON of posts from girls who were married at Sunscape the Beach (now Dreams). That will be a great option for resort-specific info ... but this is the best place by far for everything "Destination" related!!!

hey carrie,

I'm also a DREAMS bride for 2009, I haven't been there only seen online. And I'm very nervous with reviews I have read. But see your getting married soon, I would really appreciate some information about the resort if you have seen it already....

thanks

I can't tell you about the dinner package, I was a BM in a wedding there in April 2005 we had dinner in the Mexican restaurant and the bride and groom picked the menu.

But, when it comes to the beach or gazebo reception, I have some info. You need to find out if they changed the location of the beach reception. My friend did theirs on the beach and it was a little too public, so kinda strange but still nice. The gazebo is a little more private once you get there, but you actually walk down the asile through the lobby, and the lobby is really busy and you can't fit your guests in the gazebo, its too small, so they actually sit in chairs outside the gazebo. There are probs and cons to both, so it depends on which you would prefer. They are both really nice though, so I don't think you can go wrong with either.

Hi Carrie. I'm still trying to decide where I want to have our reception. I like the terrace and the area outside of the restaurant. I heard ALL of the food is good, so we're going with the Silver dinner menu because it doesn't make sense to pay extra money for food when it's an AI anyways. I have pictures of the setup on the terrace on my home computer, maybe on my shutterfly. If you give me your email address I will forward them to you.

hey! we are getting married 7.11.08 @ 4:15.

i choose 4:15 to get married b/c i wanted to take pictures after the wedding. and figured it would take about an hour for pic's and i wanted to be in the reception area around 6:00 so it gave us 4.5 hours the eat and party! we didn't decide on the dinner menu yet. as for the reception location its going to depend on the size of group we have. from what i was told, El Patio and Dreams only holds about 40 people. we might be having 60 people with us, so that would limit us to the beach or the terrace outside the conference rooms which holds larger groups. but i was told all reception locations are decided upon arrival.
