Can your family help you pay for it? Are they the one's inviting these people? I had the problem where my mom wanted to stay at a villa with tons of family and began telling people that. When I told her the total and that I couldnt swing it. I told her my options were either to reneg on invites or ask her to help me. Suddenly she wasn't staying at the villa and neither were other guests.

 

Cruel, I know but it always comes back down to the budget, and if you can't afford it then your family should be a least sympathetic.

I'm late to this, but I"m glad that you can still have your wedding at the ROR even though most of your family is from there so obviously won't need to stay at the hotel! That must have taken a lot of stress off of your plate.
