It was not windy for us at all, so I have no tips there. It was also perfect weather because it was cooler at the beach, so it was great to be down there for the reception.

I would suggest NOT getting tikki torches. I wanted them, but it was too windy for them (yet none of us noticed any wind), but it was a blessing in disguise because they had them set up the next night for a dinner and they really really stink. So just an FYI, I would not suggest you use them. They had lots of lights strung up for us and in the trees and we had candles on the tables. It was perfect.
That sounds beautiful. I want the lights strung up and from some of the pics the WC has sent, I think if I am very specific, that they can make it happen.

Here are pics from the WC of beach events (one was a pirate-themed party, the other two are wedding receptions).

I love the strung lights and the pirate area set-up (minus the skull and crossbones and big anchor, lol) ... but it's not near the reception dance floor area (which is the raised wooden platform in the other pics). I really want a wooden dance floor as opposed to dancing directly in the sand. At least to give people an option other than sand, since the sand in that area isn't pressed sand, and won't be as easy to dance in.
