Ceremony - Dreams Cancun

Seems like some of the officiants in Mexico have issues with ceremonies and vows written by others, so we're seriously thinking about going with the traditional ceremony that they are used to performing. Can anyone tell us what that's like? Is it wrong to not tailor your ceremony? What about vows? With everything left to worry about and do, I'm wondering if this is something we should concern ourselves with...

haha, I'm one of the people that had issues!

 

Honestly, I loved the ceremony that I put together, but having it cut to pieces didn't do it justice at all.

 

If it really doesn't matter to you either way, I say just go the easy way and have their traditional ceremony. I think it would have been nicer to listen to, lol.

Are you saying that even after you gave them the ceremony you wrote they changed it?

It wasn't so much that they changed it, it was that the officiant didn't read english very well, so I think he must either have his normal ceremonies memorized or he just knows what they say from saying them so many times.

There was something he said during our vows, Steve & I had to repeat what he was saying, and neither of us knew what he said, I was just looking at steve, you can see in our video that I'm thinking in my head "what did he say?" and steve like a deer in headlights, trying to mumble something. I was trying not to laugh, but you could see my chest shaking.

I wish I could figure out how to share my damn video!
