Here's my official Newbie post. I had planned on having a "normal" wedding around my hometown, and after about 3 months of planning I was ready to tear my hair out, so my fiancee and I decided to head to Vegas instead.

3. The Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas

 

We're very excited. We've booked our flight and hotel rooms (at MB) and have sent in our deposit for the Shark Reef ceremony. Anyone have any experience (good, bad or otherwise) with Mandalay Bay? I'd stayed there once before and LOVED it, so I'm hoping my wedding experience will be just as good.

 

Both our families opted out of going, and I don't think any of our friends can afford it, so it'll be just the two of us.

 

Anyway, glad to be here and I'm looking forward to reading up on the Vegas forums

Welcome Liz! I just went to a friends wedding at The Chapel at Mandalay Bay in November and it was beautiful. I did come away thinking I was glad that we didn't decide to do a Vegas wedding because it did seem very impersonal and FAST but it was nice and pretty and suited the couples purpose. I don't know where the ceremony at the Shark Reef is held (I've been inside but didn't see that part) but if it is as fun as The Chaple is beautiful, then you've picked the right place. Mandalay Bay is one of our faves.

Welcome! That is great that you are having your wedding on leap year!! Just don't forget to celebrate it on the non-leap years. :)
