Side note -

I thought I posted this before but I can't find it...

If you ever watched Flavor of Love when it came down to New York and Hoopz, he took the girls to PV to decide who the lucky lady is. Hoopz and Flav go on the Vallarta Adventures canopy tour. He takes icky New York to Las Caletas for their date, and they are right where the weddings are....a little LC trivia for ya!

To the ladies who were married at Las Caletas I have another question about processional music. I've been working on this for so long now and this is almost as hard as picking a wedding dress :smile36.gif

I've found 2 songs that I like and that if properly timed could flow nicely into each other. My question is, do you think 3 minutes is too long for 3 bridesmaids? I would have them start at the top of the stairs. Also, is 1 minute 45 seconds too long for me? I would also start at the top of the stairs, pause at the bottom to meet my mom and be unbustled.

It is proving rather difficult to choose a song that will really showcase it in 1 minute (for me) and for the bridesmaids fading out in the middle of the song (about 2 and half minutes) often does not work because it is at a dramatic part of the song which would overshadow mine.

I don't think that's too long. There are a lot of stairs and you'll find that if you walk at a slow-ish, wedding pace that should be just about right. Our intro music was almost 6 minutes in length, and this was for the flower girl/ring bearer, MOH, 3 couples, and myself.

I loved the song from start to finish so opted to play the one song and hoped it would make it to the end. Turns out it was the perfect length. Hope that helps :)

Hi LC Ladies!

My hubby finally found a place to host our LC Wedding Video!!! Here is the link:

Our_Wedding.mpg

(I hope that works!)

It is long, so if you want something to do - have a look - let me know what you think! All of the video was taken by one of our guests, and my hubby edited it and put all of the music and everything into it - including the credits/subtitles (it is hard to hear the ceremony part), etc.

I'm so excited that I can finally go online and share it with everyone - he put in so much work editing it - it is something he wants to get into - so this is a great start!

Ok, I'm at work too and had to watch a little bit of it. I couldn't download it, but it kept buffering. I'll try when I'm home.

BUT was it really that rocky on the boat? YIKES! That boat looks smaller than the other ones that Jamy or Ann's party took. Was it? Now I'm scared because if they have smaller boats for smaller parties (which mine will be) there will probably be more motion in the ocean. haha. Tons of my family gets motion sickness and I told them no worries, since it's a big boat. Oopsie. Thankfully I'm going over earlier too. I don't want to be sick!

Yeah, our boat ride was pretty rough. It was perfect for the 7 of us in the morning, but by the time everyone else was on the boat, even though it was pretty rough, they all survived. We had one guy, a friend of my cousin's who gets motion sickness VERY easily - and he made it through ok. The boat ride to LC was nothing compared to the boat ride home - it was SO rough, I will admit that it was the only thing I would have changed about the entire day. I only had 1 person get sick, one of my BM's - but everyone else (including my cousin's friend) made it through just fine!!! I wouldn't worry too much about it - they do offer dramamine on the boat as well, and we provided gravol to everyone that wanted it too... some took it, others didn't.

I'm not sure if it was a smaller boat than Jamy or Ann's boat, it was pretty big, and definitely lots of room for the 35 of us!...

Hi,

Just under a month and Chris and I will be the next couple saying I love you forever under the beautiful sunset at Las Caletas. I have 1 zillion ?'s and find myself waking up in the middle of the night in excitement.

I have some questions for those before us. Here goes....

1. How many people joined you for the wedding on LC?

2. How was your dinner seating arrangement? How many per table etc.

3. Did you use CD's for music or Ipod? How was that? Did it truly matter that you didn't hire a LIVE band?

4. How long did it take you to walk down from the spa to the alter? How many people were in the wedding? And was the timeframe of music you used enough?

5. How much percentage did you tip Nicole who is completely AMAZING. Or did you? Of which we are but wondered the percentage to do. She is worth the whole bundle but of course can't do that :)

6. Did anyone stay at the Riu Jalisco Resort?

7. What is the BEST memory of marrying in Las Caletas for you and hubby?

8. What would you have done different? if you could have changed anything?

9. Is there something in the water because a lot of brides are going to have a baby after returning from their wedding :) hahahaha

10. For those of you who married in the winter as we are. I noticed the video's and pictures were dark. What suggestion do you have about that? We did not hire a videographer, our uncle will film but we decided this because of the lighting situation. We didnt feel it was worth the money to have it this way. As I mentioned we are filming but not with a professional.

11. I would love to see anyone's and everyone's pictures from their LC wedding. You have all helped us so much in envisioning the way LC looks, especially since Chris and I won't see it until the 1 Jan, 08. In some ways I don't want to see it until that day but then again I feel we might just fall in love and feel so blessed to have others come see it as well.

Thank you all. On another note: We are doing two new things new to LC. One is the cigar man roller. 50 cigars for $450.00. We did this because many of our guests do smoke cigars and we were going to purchase them anyway but felt instead to do this fun presentation for them. Also, in the last month I believe, fireworks have been okay'd as we head back to the pier in Puerto Vallarta. The fireworks will go off for us for 3 mins cost: $1,500.00. Yes, its a lot of money for both deals but we wanted our guests to have some special moments and we decided to use our budget on them as opposed to the band and videographer. I can't wait to share our wedding with you all. You have been a great resource for Us and we thank you so much for your help. If you have any advice or suggestions please feel free to share, you are my sister's off Las Caletas and I truly appreciate your past experiences and constant advice to us waiting to go through ours. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of you. I sort of hope the water's having some magic in it myself. Who knows Las Caletas Nursery...will be next online. elefant.gif dancing on the ceiling as I get ready to jet off to Las Caletas plane.gif

My responses ...

1. How many people joined you for the wedding on LC? i had about 50 guests

2. How was your dinner seating arrangement? How many per table etc. we had a variety - we were at a table for 2, but then there were tables of 4 anywhere to 10

3. Did you use CD's for music or Ipod? How was that? Did it truly matter that you didn't hire a LIVE band? we had CDs and the DJ - it worked out fine. earlier (cocktail hour) we had the trio.

4. How long did it take you to walk down from the spa to the alter? How many people were in the wedding? And was the timeframe of music

you used enough? we didn't have a wedding party - just 4 flower girls. i have no idea how long it took, or what music was played. we just had the trio playing and not sure i even heard them!

5. How much percentage did you tip Nicole who is completely AMAZING. Or did you? Of which we are but wondered the percentage to do. She is worth the whole bundle but of course can't do that :) i can't remember how much we tipped - but we definitely did. maybe it was $300 for her, brad, and kelley? i can't remember - Paul took care of it.

6. Did anyone stay at the Riu Jalisco Resort? not me - I was at Dreams

7. What is the BEST memory of marrying in Las Caletas for you and hubby? just the surroundings and having all of our close family and friends. it was just so beautiful and exactly what we had envisioned.

8. What would you have done different? if you could have changed anything? i would have felt better somehow! i definitley wouldn't have worried about the details - they're really unnecessary. i can't think of anything!

9. Is there something in the water because a lot of brides are going to have a baby after returning from their wedding :) hahahaha maybe! lol

In some ways I don't want to see it until that day but then again I feel we might just fall in love and feel so blessed to have others come see it as well. i'm pretty sure you've already seen my pics! we chose not to see it beforehand - so our wedding day was the first for both of us. it was just more special that way for us. i mean, we didn't get the point in seeing it a couple days earlier anyway. but that was just us!

So I was thinking of placing palm leaf fans on every chair for the ceremony, but I was wondering if they were even essential. Since the wedding is late in the day, will it be hot enough for them to be necessary? I would like to take one less thing, but if it's nice for the guests I will do it.

Ann, I thought you did some. Did your guests use them?
