We set up the account and gave everyone the username and password - we put a page about the photoshare in our welcome trifold. The only thing about kodak is that you need to use an email as your username... We both use gmail, so we setup a new gmail account, and forwarded all the mail from that account to my primary email. Under subscriptions, you can pay for a premier account which is either $25/yr, or $2.95/month - it allows everyone to download high resolution images. Most of our guests have uploaded, so I've been able to download all the images. I haven't had anyone order prints yet, so I'll let you know how that goes. But, as Jill said, people can always 'share' the album with their normal account to order pics. Even if they don't figure that out, there is definitely a way to pay using a different credit card and mail to a different address.

I don't know about kodak, but snapfish & shutterfly have ways to set up rooms. So you aren't actually giving them your password. But, that would require everyone to make a snapfish account. I like the idea of making a kodak account just for the wedding & giving everyone the password. That way everyone can download high res images for free. You can download them to mulitiple computers right?

No limits on the downloads! For $2.95/month, it made total sense for us for a few months :)

Morgan,

do the codes have an expiration date?
can i have the seller's name that you used?

thanks!

no expiration, but I don't think they still have any for sell. Check anyway because there are often good deals for snapfish & shutterfly coupons.

Ok, so I know this thread is really old. I think I resurrected 2 on this topic today! But, I need to set up my photosharing account and the info here is so helpful. I figure my bump.gif will help others out as well.

I think I want to use kodak, but I'm confused about the Hi-res option that you pay for. Can someone explain to my how this helps or makes things better? I know nothing about photo resolution. Also, did you open your accounts at kodakgallery.com and then upgrade or something? I'm confused.huh02.gif

Thank you!

A higher resolution picture will allow for a larger print of good quality. I did Kodak because it allowed me to download my guest's pics at high resolution, so that I could then print (off Kodak) if I wanted to. Sign up for the regular account and then upgrade to the one you pay for. Sorry, it was a while ago so I don't remember the name of the upgraded account, but it'll be obvious.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Jenn, I'm going to set up a new kodak account now!

Ok, couple of questions:

-Does kodak require that each person who wants to upload open thier own accout? Or you just need to share your account and password?

-Picassa- is there a way to make some of your images private and them some shared, can anyone upload to your shared account?

-Shutterfly- can anyone upload to the shared page or do you need to share your password?
