Heels in the Sand?

Recommended Posts

My WC told me she had someone insist on wearing stilletos and it was very akward. I was barefoot (wedding party too) but heels would have been difficult and uncomfortable. Toes in the sand is a good feeling - especially on a tropical beach on your wedding day.....can you maybe save the heels for the reception?

I think some girls were going for wedges but personally I wouldn't have been able to handle anything more than flip flops in the sand and even that was a pain because the sand kept getting flicked up.. my bridesmaids who didn't want to walk on the plank walkway at Dreams all of a sudden hopped up during their long walk to the ceremony site.. I guess the sand was flicking all over and they were more afraid of tripping in the sand than on the planks.. opps.. got off topic. Anyhow, if you live close to a beach you may want to check it out, but I would think it would be impossible to walk (worse than on soft grass).

I'm doing barefoot or sandals for the ceremony and heels for the reception. I will also be getting my dress hemmed for bare feet, so with the heels on it might be just a tad high, but there's no train or anything anyway, and I'm sure it will look fine.

I am wearing wedge heels for the ceremony in the sand, and then the original heels I bought for my dress the rest of the day. I had bought flip flops, but when I tried them on with my dress, it just didn't look right... and when I walk you can see my shoes. Also, I can't really go barefoot since I had my dress altered to a 3" heel. I think I would trip on it without shoes on.
