Mrs. Willis,

I know that you have probably been asked this question a million times. I am sorry :0(. I If hope you don't mind me asking. I was just wondering where did you have your reception and how was the food? I am going to the island in May and I wanted to taste the food at a few places first. Thanks !!!

Hey brookedanielle !!

I found an officiant for you. His name Bill Arnet @ AFFORDABLE WEDDING on St. Thomas Virgin Islands, Romantic, Inexpensive, St. Thomas Wedding. I dunno anyone personally that has used him. He does alot of weddings on the island. His prices are inexpensive and reasonable. You might want to check him out. Just a suggestion for yah!
Bill Arnet is good. I would recommend Jeff Neevel, Pastor of the St. Thomas Reformed Church (www.streformedchurch.org). Even though he is the Pastor, he will still do beach weddings, etc. Also, Stuart Scott.

The GreatHouse has excellent food. I had reception there last May. Also, if you're shopping for a cake, I would call VI Desserts and ask about their tastings. My fiance had cake for days just from the tasting. Their cakes are delicious.

Hi everyone,

I ended up having to change my sign-on since I somehow locked myself out of the old one....but My name is Stephanie and I'm getting married May 15th, 2010. It's getting close!

We're getting married at the Marriott Frenchman's Reef resort, followed by a reception at Havana Blue, and a beach party after dinner with tiki torches and sparklers. I'm starting to iron out some of the details but could use some advice from anyone who has been to St. Thomas before...

We're trying to plan a welcome dinner the night before the wedding for everyone to get together and meet and greet. We looked at the East End cafe- but they said our group of 42 is too large for the restaurant and would have to put us in the banquet room which is a little fancier...and pricier than we'd hoped. Now we are looking into Mafolie- which is way up on the hill with a great view. Has anyone been here or recommend any other restaurants for a welcome dinner?

Does anyone have any excursions or activities planned for your guests? I want to have an optional boat trip or something that people can partake in if they'd like to.....

I'm also just starting my welcome bags and would love tips on some neat St. Thomas type items to put inside....any local rum or food items that are really good?

Thanks girls and happy planning!!

Welcome to the new brides!

Thanks for all of the officiant suggestions! We ended up booking an officiant through Island Wedding Services.

I'm a little less than three months away from my wedding, and we still haven't picked out a location. We want to be on the beach, but we don't want to have to pay the site fee that most of the beaches charge, for a 10 minute ceremony. Does anybody know which beaches are free to get married on? I know I've come upon this information somewhere before, but I can't find it now.

Thanks!

Hi Everyone,

I'll be getting married July 3rd 2010 on Magens Bay at 9 am. Then we will be taking the 30 person reception out on a sailboat for the rest of the day. My WC is Weddings the Island Way and I've been very pleased with them so far. I too had a horrific time trying to figure out a welcome dinner with pricing and places that charged not only for the food but for the rental space as well. In the end I decided it wasn't worth it and am just doing an informal get together at the bar located on our resort (Wyndham Sugar Bay). My FI and I stayed there the last time we were in St. Thomas and it was gorgeous, we had a fabulous time there. Happy Planning to everyone. :) Beth

Welcome to all the New St. Thomas Brides new to the this post. I had been away for a bit, but need to get this done... time is flying and fast. The problem I am running into is.. I am not sure if I need to give a rough estimate of who is going and then make changes as needed? I don't want to go with a WC and then say we will have 10 guests and end up with 20 or vice versa. HELP HELP =)
