Reception party back home?

We are having an AHR as well. I am actually looking forward to it. It will basically be a big party. I didnt want to deal with details, so the only planning I had to do was decide on buffet menu, choose flowers and a DJ. We will also have a slideshow of our wedding pics in Cabo. It will be 1 month after my wedding in Cabo

yes, my parents...more my mom insisted on it and i said okay b/c she wouldn't have bought into the DW without having an AHR. We live in Chicago and my parents live in St. Louis, so it's going to be there. I said that's fine but they have to plan it and do all of the coordinating. I'm thinking I'll use it as an excuse to wear my wedding dress again!

We're doing one too....

Like most of you, I'm really not looking forward to it....I feel like a jerk because its important to my parents and Fiance, but our wedding is in November in Mexico, and right now, I'm worrying about the menu choices, guest lists and invites for this AHR in February. I feel like I'd just like to have one thing (our wedding!!!) to focus on : )

 

We're planning for around 150-200 (of mostly my parents friends and family). We are planning on a DJ and are going to have it on 2/16, so we're making it a valentine's theme to try and keep it informal.

 

I like the idea of the slide show (did you all feel as though your guests enjoyed this and didn't feel "left out"). Also, I'm still kicking around the idea of whether a photographer is necessary. Did you have one at your event?

 

And, lastly, how many of you wore your dress again--at least some of the time?
