I love the scrapbook stickys but you could also easily use double stick tape, I don't know if you can get all of the same color already cut, but paper cutters are not that expensive, you will be better off getting the large 12 x 12's and cutting them.

I just ordered 20 invitations from vista print for $8.91 shipped. Using the link www.vistaprint.com/minicatalog makes the upload fee only $2.49. Once the come in, I'll stick them on some card stock & take some pictures.

If they look good, I'll order 50 more & have all the invites I need. 50 more will be about $26 shipped. So a total of $35 for 70 invites (50 cents each). As long as card stock isn't over $5, I'll be under 60 cents per invite. Yay!

DIY also saved me the expense of the excess 30 invites I would have ended up with if I ordered the 100 minimum from most of the places I looked.

Thanks everyone for helping me save money & make invites that I'm really excited about. I started this thread saying I didn't really care about invitations. Now, I love my invites!

The vistaprint 4x8 invites are not actually 4x8. It makes it easy to mount them on a 4x8 cardstock. The blue card stock is 4x8 & the invitation is the size that it comes from vista print. I haven't cut it yet. I'll trim the bottom so it's framed by the blue paper. The envelopes vista print sends fit their invites, but not with the 4x8 paper on the back. I'll have to buy some 4x8 size envelopes. That's fine though because the vista print ones were nothing fancy. They are pretty thin. I'm really happy with how they turned out. Thanks again everyone who helped design my invites!

My invites are done! Thanks to everyone who helped me make them!

Here is what I spent:

$42 80 invites + 100 postcard inserts (vistaprint)

$3 140 return address labels (vistaprint)

$17 100 Astrobrites Lunar blue envelopes (envelopesexpress.com)

$10 card stock (AC Moore, but I recommend getting astrobrites at an office store instead)

$72 grand total

Cost per invitation= 90 cents

I’ll spend about $30 on stamps.

I planned to spend less, but I’m happy with the price. I had fun making them & I’m excited to send them to my guests. I didn’t plan on getting $17 envelopes, but I really wanted them to match my paper. The invites also came with envelopes, but they didn’t fit once I added the card stock. They were also cheap looking.

I have a lot of card stock leftover to use for my program fans. So really, the total cost is a little less. I also have enough envelopes to mail my pre-wedding letters.

Out of the 80 invites I ordered, only one was printed poorly.

Two friends are going to calligraphy the addresses next weekend & then they ship out!
