Return the China or Buy More?

Recommended Posts

Jamy if you are getting china from family and you don't think you will use it then return it and get something else like a dyson or something.

I don't think China has to be super expensive, and it can be something nice to have but if you are going to have to buy a whole bunch and spend money on something you don't think you will use, then just wait for the china you will get passed down.

That's what I'm thinking....and the few occasions my mom pulled hers out I had to walk around the table on eggshells as I was reminded how important it was. I'm too kick back for that...anything that can't be replaced easily bothers me and then it isn't fun anymore, it's nervewrecking smile41.gif

It seems that china is for other people - like "I'm having so and so over, get out the china." I know some people like it themselves too, and I love a pretty table but I also love Le Creuset and I've been eyeing this french oven that makes my heart smile...lol It's $260 but if I returned the china it would be free. That's a lot for one pot but I would use it often and love to cook. I can eat off of almost anything but I can't cook in just anything. That's my fetish.

Oh, and Galit how cool that we picked the same pattern...it really is beautiful. Maybe I'll keep the 2 sets for romantic dinners between DH and I?

OK I'm driving myself crazy now fryingpan.gif

I would keep it and continue to collect it for birthdays, if it goes on sale, etc.

We did not register for formal China, and in a way I regret it. Our everyday plates are formal enough that we can dress them up, but tomorrow night we're having a dinner party, and it sure would be nice to have some real china for the occasion.

It's rediculous to drive yourself crazy over a bunch of plates! It sounds to me like you already know what you want to do, so just return the china and get the french oven of your dreamscheer2.gif

Nothing! LOL The sets are in a closet with other gifts we haven't touched. We haven't wanted to use them, and haven't really decided to take them back either. The boxes have the Macy's return barcode on them so we may still exchange them (I wonder how long we have to do that?).

I really forget we have it so we may just take it back....if I ever make a move I'll fill you guys in :P
