Don't get too upset... just think about it. When you are on a vacation, do you even know what day it is or does every day seem like a Saturday? You'll be drinking and relaxing and having a good time so it doesn't matter. As far as your guests go, I think it would be most thoughtful to have it on a Sun to help with days off of work, but like the other girls said... for DWs anything goes!

I think as long as you give guests enough time, any day of the week will work! That said, my first choice would be Sunday (maybe because I am getting married on a sunday):) I know I am repeating the other girls, but are you open to other hotels or times of year? It seems like August is your target month, but maybe moving it a month before/after might help with dates.

I vote for Sunday as well, since technically its part of the weekend. Guests would probably be able to take less time off from work that way.

About your date. I am "tentatively" an 08.08.08 bride myself. Believe me, I know exactly how you feel!!!! I have been trying to find a place that is affordable for my guests as well as fits in with our budget for that timeframe.

Make sure you asks whatever resorts you are looking at if there is some kind of waiting list, just in case of a cancellation or something. I am still trying to decide if I want to change the date (I really dont want to cry.gif ) But its getting down to crunch time, so I am going to have to make a move by the end of the year if I don't hear back from any of the resorts we wanted.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that you guys will find a resort you love, and soon elefant.gif

dont worry hunny.. as much as you wanted it on saturday.. sunday is just as good... same thing happened to me with dreams actually.. and my wedding isnt till next jan, and they are already booked for my day. but thing of it this way, if u have it on sun, ur guests can fly in fri, relax sat and work on their tan, and then enjoy your weddign on sunday! its not a bad thing... i hope it works out for u though!

My wedding is on a Monday. We are flying in on Saturday and my guests are leaving on Wednesday. It wasn't a problem for them as they are using this as their vacation, which they would have taken the days off. I am only having 7 guests, so didnt have that many people to worry about. Good luck.

ladies... thank you so much fo all your support and input. I think that we are going to try and go with the 17th (SUNDAY) ... we were thinking of actually changing resorts.

We were thinking of going from Dreams, Cancun , Mexico to Dreams, Punta CAna, Dominican Republic. Thing is i'm dominican and if i hold the wedding in Punta Cana i would have to invite all of my DOminican reletaives, which would in turn, double my guest list. Not only that, but the vision for my wedding would have to be ltered to accomadate the language barrier between the guests. Just doing pro's and con's right now.

I'll keep you all posted. <3

thanks again
