Bringing flowers home from Cancun?

Is it possible? I don't know where I heard this but is it true that you cannot bring your flowers back home from your DW location?

Sorry, but yes, it's true that you cannot transport plants of any kind over the border.

I was totally bummed out about this, and just toss my real flower bouquet since I can't bring it back to the states anyway.
