Does anyone know the name of a great secluded beach that is easy to get to near Honolulu, Lihue, or Ka'anapali?

Do you have pics or directions?

Hi there.. we are getting married on a beach in Maui and can't go before the wedding to scope it out. What I did instead, was emailed my photographer and asked his opinion on a really good beach for photos/ceremony. He gave his suggestion which happens to be really close to where our reception dinner will be :)

Have you picked a photographer or wedding planner already? If so, they should be able to help you decide on a beach.. or just google for pictures.. I did that as well before contacting our photographer..

Well, we are not going to have a professional photographer with us in Hawaii since the destination wedding will just be about 15 people, and we are only going to have our legal ceremony there, a small intimate thing and then do the big (for show!) ceremony and reception back at home. So no one to really get those kind of answers from except here. Hopefully someone will know something for me, but that was a great idea if we were going to use a WC or Ph there. Thanks!

try ko'olina

Ko Olina Resort & Marina - Honolulu Hawaii

it's gorgeous there! it's 4 different lagoons instead of just one expansive stretch of beach.

also, there is a church (or temple?) located on a hill behind the beach. i've seen a ton of weddings there, although only from the beach. i've also seen couples take their pictures in the lagoons. i don't know if it's free but it's worth a look, i think.

on a sidenote, a lot of japanese get married in hawaii because it's close to them, and they have this great tradition of releasing paper birds after the wedding and it was the coolest looking thing going over the water. :)
