Iberostar Grand Bavaro?

Recommended Posts

Anyone had any luck with the Iberostar Grand Bavaro in the DR?  I've been l scouring the internet for a place to go and I found this place.  It looks amazing and the reviews are really good.  Just wanting to get more opinions if anyone has any.

Thank you.

Hi Patty,

What was your overall experience?  How were the rooms, pool, beach staff, activities, amenities? Anything else you can provide?  Did you go for vacation or a special event?

I notice your signature says "AMResorts Master Agent..." Do you work for AM Resorts? And if so, how would you rate the Grand Bavaro to a Dreams?  One of the other resorts we are really considering is one of the Dreams.  They all seem to be very good resorts as well.

Thank you.

Hi Aaron - I am one of the Wright Travel/BDW  travel agents specializing in the Dominican Republic.  There are lots of great resort options in Punta Cana and I have stayed at and/or toured many resorts. The AmResorts Master Agent is a travel agent education program I completed with AMResorts.

Iberostar Grand Bavaro is an adults only resort and Dreams are family friendly. There are many resort options in the Amresorts family - Sunscape, Now & Dreams are family friendly and Breathless and Secrets are adults only. Zoetry allows children, but they do not cater to children, no kids club, child rates, etc....  Iberostar is a complex, and their other three resorts are family friendly.

I see you also posted a question about Kukua. I have been to Kukua many times and Bego is a sweetheart and very talented.  I have resort info, resort wedding info, and info and pricing for Kukua as well.

Please feel free to email me at [email protected] and I am happy to send info to you. Please let me know what questions I can answer. Thanks! TA Patty

We LOVE the Grand in DR! We’ve been a few times and got engaged there - it’s our favorite resort! The pool is great - the staff is AMAZING! And the food is wonderful! We love that the resort is a bit smaller, but doesn’t feel too small. He entire Iberostar property is beautiful! The Grand recently opened a time-share vacation pitch- we spent an hour getting to tour just to get a few free massages ;) just be aware they will approach you and your guests. You can say no, but someone new will ask you the next day too.

The staff really make the Grand awesome - they go above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay.

We had initially considered the Grand for our wedding, but the costs to guests eliminated it as an option. The Grand is Adults Only, which is why we love it, but we do have some kids coming - so that meant all our wedding events would have to be at The Suites. The per night stay was a little more than we felt comfortable asking guests to pay. Plus, travel to the DR was more costly than travel to Mexico. It also seemed that the wedding packages and costs were higher than I expected. Now that we’re just a few months from our wedding in Mexico at Azul - the Iberostar wedding prices don’t seem that off ;)

Happy planning!!
