The drive time depends on how you are getting to the resort if staying at Dreams Tulum. If you rent a car or use a private transfer service (not always more expensive) it is only around a half hour past PDC.

 

Actually its more like 20 minutes since all the RIU resorts are on the south side of PDC.

 

We drove from Dreams Tulum to Playa a few times to go hang out and it was a relatively short trip.
