hi, i'm new to forum. Am getting married at Sunset Jamaica Grande in August 08. I haven't been told a time, did your wedding coirdinator give you the time? Have you decided what you will do after wedding. I'm trying to decide if it is worth paying for private reception meal for my guest or will they be able to eat together in all inclusive package? Would love to hear how your day goes.

I'm getting married at the SJG on 2/25/08. Esther did not give me my date and time confirmation until I put down my deposit. Even if you are doing the free wedding you have to send in the money for your license. I have asked Esther for pictures of flowers and different areas people have gotten married at and have not gotten any from her.

Hi All,

I booked through Virgin and had to give a prefered date and time that i wanted to get married. Virgin then wrote to us with the date and time confirmed. Virgin then sent a list of optional extra's including prices for us to chose from, we returned our choices together with the documents needed. I booked our wedding nearly a year in advance. When I e-mailed Esther back then, she took a while to reply. Now the wedding is getting nearer she seems to reply quicker. Maybe she thinks there is plenty of time. She has now reassured me that EVERYTHING gets sorted when you arrive at the resort. All you have to do is arrange your clothes.

We get married 13 weeks today and I cant wait, I am so excited.

I look forward to counting down to our wedding with you all.

Hi,

As Far As The Private Reception Goes I Decided To Not Do It Considering Everyone Has Paid For The All Inclusive. I Would Like To Book On Of The Fncier Dinners For That Night And Maybe They Can Sepaerate Us A Little So We Can Have Our Own Area.. I Just Do Not Know What To Do After The Dinner.. Is There A Place For Dancing, Drinks, So We Can All Hang Out Together?

Hi Denise,

Hopefully you are feeling as excited as i am. I would agree with you that after all the monies you have spent, the last thing you need to pay for is a private reception at an all-inclusive resort.

We arrive at SJG around 5.30pm on 8th April.

Maybe we can catch up at some point and toast 'our weddings'.

I wish we had a few more people going to our wedding, but as its second time round and a lot of money, we will just have to share pics and dvd's when we get back. (we are having a big party on our return for family and friends).

Just a suggestion, why not all meet up at one of the beach bars in the evening and have a party on the beach? that way you've got your all inclusive food and drink and ample room to dance. Maybe contact esther and see if its possible to borrow/hire a cd player and take some cd's with you (of your taste).

I think this is what i would do if there was a few more of us.

I agree with everyone that the best thing to do is just have an open reception in one of the restaurants if all of your attendants will be staying at the same resort. I had the same idea in mind because it seems that all of our guests will be staying at SJG with us. Does anyone have any pictures to share?? Jnowlan - I see that your wedding is soon approaching.. I'm so excited for you. We are booking in the next week and I am very anxious. 2008 seems to be a big year for all of us. I would like to see pictures of the flower arrangements and options as well.. Have you heard anything from Esther as far as pictures of bouquet arrangements?

I'm so glad I found this forum! I think I have decided to have reception at one of the all inclusive restaurants. Would be great to see all of your pics who will be getting married before me. I also looked at reviews on Reviews of holidays, hotels, resorts, holiday and travel packages - TripAdvisor All the wedding reviews are positive and some have pictures!

Well, thats it, not much more to do. Booked the seats on the plane, the parking for the cars, the travelodge for the night before we fly and just had a phone call to say my wedding dress has arrived.

Alterations cant be made till end of February. So all i can do now is sit back and wait......and check out all the messages on this site.

The guys have got there clothes sorted, he girls have got there dresses. Just need to sort out clothes for my partners six year old son.

We are wondering whether to right our own vows or use traditional ones. Also whether to include the children in the vows too. I have read somewhere that children can take part too. As it is second time round for us, i thought this might be a nice idea. Would like your thoughts on this. I would also like to find something special for the children to keep, my partner and i will have wedding rings, its easy to find something for the girls but what about my step son to be....?

Was thinking of something personalized but what?

Ideas would be gratefully received.
