Great article ckinkenbine, thx for sharing! We agree Ivan Luckie is a great professional photographer - would Luv to see some of the photos he captured for you guys!

However there is one "sticky" point you make in your advice.....bringing a photographer friend/relative from home. That can be a problem that causes stress you really don't need on your Big Day!

Is the person you're asking to take photos for you a friend? If so, it's quite another function to do both - capture your wedding in photos as a photographer AND be a wedding guest who enjoys your celebration.

Another consideration is that it is illegal for someone to come to Mexico and photograph a wedding without proper working papers. The same way people can not just travel to the USA or Canada and work.

Cancun airport is aware of this and as you will see... scans all luggage arriving when you go through customs. People traveling with more than one camera will need to answer for the equipment.

I'm not trying to scare you... just give you the facts of working in a foreign country.

Those scenarios are just not something you want to deal with at the last minute on your wedding day - to say the least.

On the postive side, there are lots of great professional photographers available in our magnificent Mayan Riviera (like Ivan Luckie) who'll do a great job at capturing your wedding day love story in photos! So why take a chance?

I hope everyone has a totally awesome experience at their destination weddings, and enjoy their wonderful new life journeys ahead  - Congrats to all, cheers!!!
