I feel like there's stuff I'm leaving out.

For our March 2017 wedding:

Dress is bought, still looking for a seamstress, but I can't start on alterations until December/January

Shoes are bought.

Make Up and Hair - Resort spa, but they aren't taking appointments yet that far ahead.

Accessories - Still working on jewelry, veil, etc.

His clothes and shoes have not been bought yet, but he's only doing khakis and white linen shirt.

The venue will covering the caterering, linens, etc as well as flowers

FI is in discussions with DJ (booked for reception, but FI wants him for ceremony also)

Photographer is booked

Invitations - have been decided on, but have to be printed and assembled.

Cake topper bought.

Officiant, booked.

Can't do OOT bags until we know who's coming.

Same with our escort cards (having very non traditional ones).

Passports are in order. Documents are in order.

Flights haven't been booked yet, but FI has to be approved for this time off first.

What am I forgetting? What else do I need to do? Everyone keeps telling me I'm WAY ahead of what I need to do, but I don't feel that way.

Bridesmaid and groomsmen outfits and thank you gifts ? Ring bearer and or flower girl outfits? Rehearsal dinner details and outfit? Plans for a future honeymoon? Thank you gifts for parents if doing those? Sourcing ideas of what you will buy for OOt bags? Centerpieces?

You are way ahead though! Good job

It's great that you have so much done and still have so much time left! I think you should just figure out what you will be putting in the bags and what bags you would like to purchase for the OOT bags. How about music? Have you decided what you want to walk down to aisle to, first dance ect?

No BP. We decided not to have BMs?GMs and none of our friends want to bring their kids. Hah hah. They were like, "we're going on vacation, no kids!" We might get some gifts for our parents, but we paid for everything so it'll just be something small. Like thanks for raising us.  :)

We're not really doing a rehearsal/rehearsal dinner either. However one of our guests has a 40th birthday one night and another two guests are having a wedding anniversary another night. So we're going to do something special for them. Outfits for that, working on those.

OOT bags have been decided on, and what goes in them. Just waiting until we know our numbers.

We're working on music. So frustrating because my FI is a musician, so he's super picky and super opinionated. So, it's been mostly left up to him. We're currently having a debate about friends of ours play music to walk down to vs hiring musicians.

But centerpieces/table runners have to be worked on.

Wow! You have a lot done already! I'm getting married on July 7th and I feel like I'm not that prepared.

My advice is to watch for sales for your OOT bags since you are planning so far in advance. You should be able to get things on sale at the end of the summer, which will be nice. I planned my wedding in about 6 months so I wasn't able to look for sales as much. I would start stockpiling ahead of time if I were you!

@@Mangosong I think you are way ahead of the game, but you have been given some good suggestions to work on. Since your FI is planning khakis/linen shirt, make sure you get this over the summer so that you have the most selection. It can be tough to track down linen in the winter. Also, make sure to stock up on things like swimsuits, coverups, shorts, sundresses, etc. during the summer.

Where are you going in Costa Rica? We were just there in April for our honeymoon. We loved it!

@@vancouverpetunia We already started looking at linen shirts and khakis. And by we, I mean me.  :)  I buy most of his clothes anyway. Hah hah. Bathing suits, and the rest, we have plenty of, so not really all that worried about clothing. I already have a packing list in the works (I make a packing list for every vacation, weekend getaway, etc.)

We'll be at the Westin. Did you guys do any excursions while you were there?

@@Mangosong We were in different areas from where the Westin is - we were in the mountains near San Ramon (which is sort of near San Jose) and at the beach by Manuel Antonio National Park (south on the Pacific side). So some of the things we did won't make sense for you. But we did a day trip to Arenal which we really enjoyed. We went to La Fortuna Waterfall, then to some hanging bridges (there are lots of options but we did Mistico which we really liked) and then a hot spring (again, lots of options - we did Baldi, which we didn't love, it was very commercial). Overall it was a great day and I highly recommend a visit to the area. Let me know if you have any questions - happy to help if I can.
