@@vancouverpetunia In lighting related news, I finally got around to emailing JC and he told me that it's $150 per pole, plus $100 labour for setup/removal. So perhaps I will go down this route after all!

@@VancouverGal I just saw your comments on my review. Sorry I missed them. There doesn't seem to be a way to get notifications for them. We've already discussed lighting, but you asked what flavor cake we got. We just got vanilla. I would have done tres leches, but my hubby is lactose intolerant, so I didn't think something that translates to "three milks" was a good plan LOL

@@VancouverGal Welcome to the wonderful community we have going here at BDW! These forums will be exceptionally useful during your wedding planning.

We have been fortunate enough to work at Now Sapphire several times, and love it every time. Juan-Carlos is FABULOUS. Absolutely fabulous, can't say enough good things about him. I'm very happy to hear you will assisted by him during these planning stages.

As for lighting, if you are curious of the different setups, both for the reception on the tequila terrace, as well as lighting for the dance floor that is opposite the dinner setup, I'm including a few photos from Amber & Ross's wedding we photographed there. If you would like to see further highlights from their day, please follow the link to our portfolio page: http://jasminandmatt.com/portfolio/amber-ross

You might also like to check out the highlights from another wedding on the tequila terrace, where the couple opted to string lights and paper lanterns in the reception portion, and included party favours for the dance party:

Hope some of this information is helpful, and don't be shy to ask further questions based on our experiences at Now Sapphire. You can reply here, send us a PM, or even a direct email.

Cheers!
Jasmin & Matt

Hey there @VancouverGal!

Welcome to the forum! The resort you chose has really nice locations. As fellow photographers were mentioning, there are many options for the reception lightning setups. We would recommend you to steer clear of laser effects in the lights (should they offer this to you) since they can become both a photographer and videographer's nightmare!

These are highlights from a previous wedding we shot at the resort. Do you have any photo or video related questions we can help you with?
