@@tiffanyt Nope, not yet. I contacted my travel concierge who I am using as the middle man contact about getting in touch with a coordinator, but she said I am still too early and probably 4 months before the wedding they will get in touch with me. I'm sure my trip in April will expedite that. I might take your suggestion and do the trial this April when I am there. I was thinking the same thing about my nails too, I don't know if I want gel or acrylic and the package only includes a regular manicure. Let me know what you decide! How are you getting your dress there? I've ready horror stories about bring it on as a carry on as well as shipping it before hand. Are you shipping your decor/napkins/flowers beforehand or taking packing it in a suitcase and checking the bag?

@@Kcusack89 I really reallly want a sit down dinner but I'm feeling very torn. After speaking with my coordinator she explained that they will only allow two entree selection for a sit down dinner and I must let them know the exact number of people who will be having each entree. I like the fact that the buffet gives more option but my fiance hates buffet dinner at weddings.

How much extra is the chivari silver chairs? I'm thinking of using chivari chairs myself.

@@Kcusack89, I just saw your posts. I'm sorry I didn't acknowledge them sooner, I'm still getting use to the forum! Thanks for the information. I think we are going to do a buffet also just because of the number of options like you stated, but we will definitely try out of the food when we go this April. Is the ballroom terrace not always available for weddings?

@Babkijol- we will have to compare notes after both of our preview days. If there is anything that you want me to check out for you that you may have forgotten on your trip just let me know and I can check for you when I am there! Thanks for the flower suggestions, I'll take a peek at their websites if they have one.

@@Harrisc15 My coordinator was assigned to me after my preview but she was the same person who I met with during the preview so it was great that I had already met her in person.  I'm way too worried about shipping anything ahead of time so I'm bringing everything and dispersing it among my MOH and family. We are flying southwest which allows 2 free checked bags so that is a huge help! My dress will be coming with me onto the plane as my carry on because I am terrified of losing it.

I'm also doing a buffet so that there's more to choose from. The ballroom terrace is $5,000 to reserve ahead of time because its technically not a wedding space, they use it as an overflow for one of the ballrooms. So as long as the ballroom isn't booked 45 days prior to the wedding then you can reserve it for free. So far it's not booked so fingers are crossed that it stays that way. There's a beautiful view from the terrace and its close to bathrooms and A/C when needed lol!

Hair and makeup is 88 each at the salon

Chivari chairs are $6 a chair upgrade

Ballroom terrace is more for corporate events they allow weddings to book it if it hasn't been requested 45 days prior. It is amazing though and I really hope we get it or I can email it I have pictures of it if I can figure out how to post pictures here. I met marcinne when I was there she is lovely

@@Harrisc15 it's no bother at all! I'm actually glad to see another bride whose date is close to mine so that we can share ideas  :D .

The ballroom terrace is an open concept from what my coordinator described. The side walls on one side in pictures appear to be low and open with the natural breeze flowing through. I will get to see in person when I go down in April.  I emailed three florists for quotes,

1. Blooming Designs

2. Krafted by Designs

3. Floral Fantasy.

I will let you know when they get back to me and the quote they provide.

I reached to Makeup by Trish and she quoted me $100 for my makeup and $75 for each bridesmaid plus a $150 travel fee. Sue the Makeup girl quoted $120 for my makeup and $80 for each bridesmaid.  Brushed by Nicole quoted me $150 for my makeup plus $55 for each bridesmaid.

My DJ is a friend of my fiance and I. He was coming to our wedding as a guest and offered to DJ our wedding as a wedding gift.  My hairstylist is also a friend who is coming to the wedding as a guest and will be doing my hair for me.

My wedding coordinator is Marcinne and so far she's been really responsive and nice.

Trish T is amazing! I booked her originally but then she had to cancel since Jamaican carnival is on the same day and she typically is contracted to do that so that was a bummer! I'm using Rasine Hamilton $80 traditional bride, $95 airbrush, $50 bridesmaids/mother of the bride and a $100 travel fee. I thought about sue the makeup girl too but she was over my budget since I'm paying for my girls but she's awesome too!

I'm leaning towards Trish T because her work looks amazing!

Hi all,

I have a question about vendor fees. I'm hiring a few outside vendors and I know the resort charges $500 per vendor. I already know I have to pay a vendor fee for my photographer, florist and DJ.

I was thinking to myself the other if I could say my makeup artist is a "family member" and pay a guest day pass to get her on the hotel property. Do you think this is something that could work?

I don't think they'll waive it unless they will be staying at the resort. Is your Dj staying at the resort?
