Hi Guys,

Our wedding is May 3rd and we leave for Mexico next week :)) I am having a photographer dilemma I wanted some opinions on. I am using Adrian through Dean Sanderson and have him for 6 hours. We have 103 people attending our wedding, I emailed Dean this AM just to clarify some things and he suggested with a group that size that we may want to consider a second photographer, and lucky me because he is available that day it would be him! The cost of adding a second photographer is $350USD for the full six hours. I have already spent more then I thought I would on photography, Adrian was $1950 USD for the 6 hours, the exchange rate killed us but I feel like the opportunity of having Dean there as well is hard to pass up? Any thoughts on one photographer vs two? Anyone's experiences with either or? Thanks so much :)

We have a group half your size and have two photographers coming. I definitely don't think you have to have two but for an extra $350 I'd strongly consider it. For getting ready pictures you could each have your own photographer and for the rest of the day you'll have double the pictures to pick from. I think that's daunting BUT your photos will be that much better. If one misses something, the other will likely capture it. Obviously I'm not speaking from experience but I really think you won't regret pending that extra $350 post-wedding.

@@nkavanaugh you definitely want to consider having a second photographer.  almost all professional photographers would recommend you go with a second shooter.  this gives you a piece of mind, knowing one of them is with you and the other is with your groom.

Happy Wedding I am sure you will have tons of fun.

I was going to book with Dean until we decided to take our photographers from home. He's such an amazing person. I would hire the 2nd in a heartbeat. I really don't think when all is said and done that you'd regret capturing more moments.

@@nkavanaugh  I'm going to agree with everyone else. Wow - we were 4 and had 2 photographers and it was totally worth it! You won't regret having 2 and if you can get that kind of pricing, I would absolutely go for it! In a heartbeat! Your photos will be spectacular!! Plus with the group that you have you don't want to miss any shots. I know it's a lot with the exchange rate right now. Good thing is.... the $ is going up!

I knew your date was close but it wasn't until you said May 3rd leaving next week that it's like "geez... we're nearly the end of April and into May already!!"  Your wedding is so close!! That's one big group you've got! It's going to be incredible!!

First of all, congrats on the upcoming wedding! You must be so excited :)

I will chime in as both a former BDW bride as well as a California/destination wedding photographer. For $350 you should jump at having an additional photographer :) My husband and I are a wedding photography team and we've been shooting weddings together now for 6 years. Unless the wedding group is really small (25 or less), we always shoot together and I wouldn't have it any other way. There is so much going on during a Wedding Day, especially when the group size is 30+ -- it's a tough task for one photographer to truly capture everything, so having a second shooter is gold and will only give you many more photos to love and cherish. Having two shooters also allows for there to be constant coverage should the other photographer need to take a bathroom/food break, etc.

I know weddings can be expensive and I remember number crunching and stressing late in the planning process as well because I had overspent on various details. But photography is definitely an area where the investment is worth it. You don't get "do-overs" when it comes to your Wedding photos, so go for it and enjoy the day without worry that your photographers are missing something ;) Hope that helps!!!
