Revolution Day Mexico - Get Married The Next Day?

Hi All, 

 

FI and I are currently thinking about postponing our wedding from April until later this year. We've looked into other months this year and for various reasons such as costs from flying from the UK, weather, work commitments, we have narrowed it down to November. We then have to consider the dates in which our travel agent fly from the UK, which is Tuesdays and Thursday and the pre wedding events we would like to have beforehand. Due to birthday celebrations earlier in the month (mine ) we have narrowed down the date and think that Tuesday 22nd November could be good. This is the day after Revolution Day which is a Mexican Public holiday. Any thoughts on getting married the day after a public holiday? Will the service provided by vendors be good if they may have been out celebrating all day the day before? If there are any last minute queries, will we be able to get hold of vendors the day before? I currently have my hair and makeup planned for the day before the wedding which I think may not be possible to have the day before (not a huge issue though).

Or what even about Revolution Day itself? Could a public holiday work in Mexico?

As far as I know, We Wedding professional in Mexico take of what do, we are so used to doing events back to back holiday included.  I wouldn't be worried. I would make sure I work with vendors that i see their reviews and feel comfortable working with . November will have cooler weather and its still in law season.

I'm sorry you need to move your wedding date. Planning a wedding is stressful enough without dealing with that. Having said that, I've been through it myself but we went the opposite way - from November to October and it was Jamaica, so the holiday wasn't a concern.

 

I agree with Joyce - wedding professionals are used to working around holidays. The only complication might be if you're planning to do a legal ceremony in Mexico rather than get married at home first and just do a symbolic ceremony, which many brides do. Some resorts will not count a holiday as one of your "required" days to be at the resort ahead of time for a legal ceremony. The wedding coordinators are around almost all the time so it's highly possible you would still see them around the resort on the holiday!
