Curious as to what has worked best. Once we out our deposit down guests will have 90 days to put down their deposit. Should we use email, save the dates, a facebook group?

Thanks.

@@Jennal412 in edition to what@@Wafflesmom said, I have seen a lot of brides in 2015 they created a Facebook group with all the guests.  the good thing is most people check Facebook 3 times a day.  and once you post something the group they would get the notification.  email drags a lot.   Hope this helps

Happy Planning and Happy New year!

I agree with the Facebook idea. We mailed save the dates after we put our deposit, our group also had 90 days so right away we sent save the dates, which was super simple just made one on Microsoft publisher like a photo size and got it developed at Walmart photo centre for cheap. Then we also did a Facebook event and most people responded there about going or not and it has been a great place for everyone to talk about the trip and ask questions and get excited!

Also did regular invites from wedding paper divas and they were perfect ,

@@Jennal412 people were confused by our save the dates and didn't go on our website to read the details about booking. In hindsight I wish we completely customized our save the dates and wrote all the details in one place. People that haven't attended a destination wedding don't necessarily realize you need to book so far out. If I were to do it again I would use a site like paperless post so that I could track responses. Even as our booking deadline came closer and closer I sent emails but some people are just bad on email. Email is my life and how I work so I never miss one but this experience has taught me that not everyone functions that way. Becusse I don't have Facebook myself and a lot of guests don't use it as much as they once did I would use paperless post (or a similar site) if I were to go back in time :)

@@Jennal412 Sicne our guests only had 90 days as well, we set up our wedding website and sent out an email save the date as soon as we secured our rate with the website link so guests could start booking.  We mailed out our passport invitations without an rsvp card and a link to the website instead so we could get them in a habit of checking there for updates.  We also set-up an wedding email and sent reminders to our guests about deadlines etc

Of course people still texted us for dates and other info but our method seemed to work pretty well.

@Jennal412  The ladies have all given you great ideas and suggestions, something you'll definitely see a lot of here. They're great.

Some of your decision will depend on your budget as well. Ordering paper mail-out STDs obviously has a cost involved so that's a consideration. Do all your guests have email access, such as grandparents or older relatives. If not, paper would be a better option for them. There are definitely lots of options out there. When I got married, we initially set up our wedding website which gave us an electronic STD option so that guests could RSVP directly to the website and made it easy to track. There are a number of wedding websites available - some free and some with a cost - that you could put together. The ladies here would definitely have suggestions with ones they've used.

Good luck and keep us posted on what you decide!

We have until January for our guests to book. Our travel agent said she would send a reminder to the group (we gave her our guest list and all their information) a week before everything was due.
