Tulum Wedding - Private Ceremony?

Recommended Posts

Hello ladies!

First off thank you for sharing your experience with us clueless brides to be! This forum rocks!

We plan our wedding in tulum in November 2016. We went there last week to check out locations but now we are even more confused than before. We gonna have about 50 guests (2 of them children) and want a private ceremony space (no tourists taking pics of us). I was sure we gonna end up with dreams tulum but I was disappointed after seeing it in person (also no privacy) On top of that I fell in love with the "hotel zone" in tulum. It's so chill and cute. Love all the charming restaurants and bars so I would like to be closer to that as well.

Our other option/idea was to rent a private villa. We found one we really love but for our wedding month the fees per night are way more then it initially said on airbnb and with the wedding fee it gets way more expensive then initially planned.

Do you have any other ideas? Maybe rent out a small hotel? I would like to keep the costs for out guests at under $400 a room with food included....

I'm really grateful for any idea or comment!

Sonja

Congrats and welcome!  You're right - this forum really does rock! The ladies here are great at providing ideas and suggestions.

Do you have a travel agent yet? That's the first thing I would recommend. A TA will help you with your list of wants and don't wants. The owners of this site are destination wedding specialists and I know they could help you with locations based on what you're looking for. You can contact them through this site.

Are you totally set on Tulum? I can think of one or two places that offer private locations but your budget will be a major factor, which again is why a TA can help you out. They'll be able to help you stay within your budget for locations as well as help you out with the budget you want for your guests.

Good luck and happy planning!

I second @@acw271011

I married near Tulum in akumel. It was called the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya. Can be considered a large resort at over 1000 rooms but has a very private ceremony and reception area. It's at a private beach with the reception in a palapa.

Just an idea :) good luck

@@SonjaandJames Welcome to the forum and congrats on choosing to have a destination wedding.  I agree with the ladies, It really depends on a few things. But most factor is knowing what your budget is, for 50 guests.  We have locations to recommend in Tulum including villas for your group.

Please feel free to reach out we would be happy to help.

Happy Planning!

Joyce
