Hi all!

My Fi and I just confirmed our wedding date this week - May 2nd (Yay!!)  Since we're now under the 6 month mark, wondering if we should just skip the Save the Dates and send the real invitations. Everything I've read says to send a destination wedding STD as soon as possible (6 months plus). I'm already feeling stressed that we're late on that and we found out we won't get our engagement pictures back for another 3 weeks. We've already communicated the date to friends and family that we know will be there.

What do you think - should we just skip save the dates and jump to invites? What did you do?

Thanks for your help!!

Congrats!

We booked our January 2015 wedding in May so gave us about 8 months. We did not do STDs and only did invitations so I personally think with your time crunch this is totally acceptable. People will need to book ASAP and it just seems redundant to do both in such a short time frame :)

Hope that helps!

@@jordanj Nope, no time for STD, I would probably communicate with guests that you know for sure are coming, and send them information on booking the hotel. then letting them know invitation to follow.  By the way 6 months is still plenty of time for planning a destination wedding. we have planned a wedding with 3 months in the past.  focus on what had to be done. and enjoy the planning stage.

I skipped the STD and just went for the straight invitation (even way ahead of time)... but that was mainly because I had a deadline that guests needed to put their deposit down by so that they would take part in the payment plan :)

I'll be sending "reminder - final payment due by *** " postcards though ^.^

I agree with everyone else. This close - skip the STDs and go straight to invites. Much simpler. You'll need to get people booked very soon to guarantee space so makes no sense to do the extra time and expense.

Good luck!
