2016 Iberostar Rose Hall Suites Brides

Recommended Posts

I'm not worried about it being gorgeous! I'm a bit stressed about picking the locations for everything. Its hard for me to picture where everything will happen after the beach ceremony. We're leaning towards having the reception at the beach bonfire (we will probably have 25-30 guests), but the weather makes me nervous. But I also havent heard a lot about having the reception at the resorts club. Basically I'm just struggling to plan without really seeing it! Do we pick our locations for everything when we arrive or is that something that needs to be chosen with the coordinators beforehand?

We did a site visit during a Montego bay vacation and we're able to see the locations in advance but I also know that since there is only 1 wedding per day, you can choose in your meeting with the coordinator the day or 2 before your wedding. Given the amount of people you expect, a location I liked (but would be too small for our group) was the 2nd floor balcony behind the staircase that looks out over the resort and ocean. It's beautiful. Sorry I can't remember the name of it off-hand. We visited the disco which is available for private rental before I think 10:30 but we really liked the Music Bar that is also available prior to 10:30 when it then open to the rest of the resort.

Happy to help if there are any other questions you had. I know there are a few former brides from the Suites on here as well that cn also chime in.

I'm getting married Sept 10th 2016 :)  :)

I actually got the option to visit the resort in Dec.  The resort is beautiful! I'm having my wedding at the Grand, ceremony (on the beach) and reception (Port Maria restaurant). Based on reviews, I've decided not to use their DJ, photographer/videographer.  I decided to use Lenox Photography(videographer and photographer included), anyone heard of them or used them before? My DJ will be DJ Vaun from JamaicanWeddingDJ company.

Only real concern I have so far is with Tai Flora as I heard really bad reviews with them and their our only florist option  .  I'm starting to make my floral arrangements with them now and already I'm having a hard time.

Congrats to all of you ladies!!!

I'm getting married Aug 1, 2016 at the suites!

We are having 30-40 guests which has seemed to make things more difficult. I really wanted to do a private dinner at Aunt Rubys but it doesn't look like we will have enough people. I am nervous about having a semi-private dinner because I'm afraid it won't feel like a real reception with tons of strangers around. Are y'all opting for a private dinner or doing the the semi-private dinner that's included with the packages?

Congrats on your wedding lady! I'm planning on having my wedding on the beach as well.

I have been having the same issues with Tai Flora. I am starting to consider using "real touch flowers" so I can have more control over the situation.

Oh, I thought we can only use Tai Flora for our wedding at Iberostar.  So we can consider using other florist? If so, I will definitely change.

Hi Brides,

Congrats to you all. I got married at the suites back in August of 2015 and I'm willing to offer any support I can. I'm a coordinator here in the states and a former destination bride so I understand the anxiety of having a destination wedding. The one thing you don't have to worry about is the resort it is BEAUTIFUL!!!! All 3. Of course the grand is the best of them all because they cost more but I wouldn't have traded my stay at the suites for the world. The staff is wonderful, Nicole the coordinator is very professional and although she may not respond right away she really does have it together. Here's a quick review

Hair and make-up- RUN LIKE HELL (If your an African woman). I HATED my hair and makeup. Luckily the photographer I flew in is also a hair dresser and hooked me up...as far as my make-up I still hate it...Lol!

DJ. I used DJ Kevin's company he sent someone else I can't think of his name but he had us rocking ALL night long. We had some bystanders trying to get in to the wedding....LOL!

Decorations. Godfrey Guy was sent from heaven above. This man eats, sleeps and breaths weddings. He is awesome when it comes to communication, went above and beyond and exceeded my expectations. Oh and he's ALOT cheaper than Tai flowers and way more creative. You can see pics from my wedding on his Facebook page. Keep in mind he's a local with a thick accent...Lol! But I love him

Calabash- I had a private reception at this restaurant, you can request a Jamaican cuisine it was delish.

Wedding cake - sucks...if you happen to work with Godfrey let him recommend a baker, the one he ordered for me was soooooooooooo amazing

cocktail hour- I had this by the pool...beautiful set-up thanks to Godfrey but waste of money. The food they offered no one ate it and it was infested with ants

That's the crash review hope this helps

You can use other flower vendors. They just have to leave the flowers at the front and the wedding coordinators will set them up. If the florist actually comes onsite to do things, then you get charged the vendor fee. we used Chantal from Floral Fantasies and loves our flowers (we only did centerpieces). Tai Flora literally took 2 months to respond to me and I also tried Jans and they were unresponsive. Other brides have liked Jans, which I think is now the preferred florist for Iberostar Rose Hall Beach, but I gave my money to the florist with the best service!
