Symbolic/renewal Of Vows Paperwork Required?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if you're required to show your marriage certificate for a symbolic ceremony or a renewal of vows? We are doing a "vow renewal" at the Grand Riviera Princess but circumstances may end up being that we can't do our legal ceremony until we come back. Has anyone else done this?

I haven't seen anyone here mention it at all. We're renewing our vows on October 20th and the coordinator that I have (we're doing it off resort) hasn't asked me once for our marriage certificate from 4 years ago.

@veryvalentine  Did you have to prove you had done your legal ceremony before you got married at GSP?

@@streelbride you do not have to show your legal marriage certificate, in fact some ministers when performing the symbolic ceremony will have you sign a certificate at the end of the ceremony. (this is only to makes it look official for picture purposes)

Happy Planning!

Joyce has a great point - why would you need legal papers unless you're doing a legal ceremony? however you can still make it look official if you wish.......like this:

.....an excerpt from a Playacar Palace Wedding Album:

.....or this one from the El Dorado Royale Casitas Wedding Album:

......ot this one from the Barcelo Maya Colonial Wedding Album:

Wishing you happy research, and all the best with your plans - cheers!!! team mtm :)
