Wedding bands:

So we've picked up our wedding bands :) When we initially got engaged, my coworker told me that I should go to his jeweler since was reputable and would be cheaper since he is a wholesale jeweler. Plus, I knew that a custom wedding band would be the best route for me since my fingers are so small (size 3.5) and it would be too hard to find something in store that would line up perfectly with my e-ring. With the advice of our jeweler, I actually ended up with an eternity band, that way I wouldn't have to worry about lining up the diamonds (I didn't want to solder them together). So this is what my rings look like together

As for Derrick's ring, he surprisingly decided to design his own custom ring. I was shocked since he's always said he wanted a "wedding watch" instead of a ring. But as we talked to our jeweler and he looked at men's wedding bands, he decided to design his own. He researched different looks and ended up designing a rose gold band, with a band of white gold in the middle, then a row of three diamonds perpendicular to the band. It looks gorgeous and he's so excited to wear it. He tried it on and he now says it's too tight (I think he's just not used to wearing rings). Good thing we didn't buy tungsten, at least if it is tight, we can resize it!

@@calgarybride2015 thank you so much! I love how both rings turned out and I can't wait till we get to wear them. Our jeweler was very good at giving us valuable tips and advice when designing our rings.

And I agree about the effort in trying o your wedding dress. That's what has prevented me from trying it on this whole time lol

@@Wafflesmom wow! I love both! I also love that he surprised you with his decision to go the traditional route with a ring and then to go all out and design his own.

@@calgarybride2015 that poor bride! This story makes me want to get out of bed and drive to the store to pick up my dress right now lol

Thanks @@ashhtayy! I was surprised that he turned down a watch and then turned around and put so much effort into his wedding band. The jeweller even inticed him with a rolex and he still chose the wedding band! Since the design was a little more intricate, his ring was pricier. But it was well worth it!

Thanks @@yycbride2016 I wish we could wear them already instead of them just sitting in the safe.

@ I know, Der really shocked me when he came up with that design. He was initially going to go with black diamonds but he went with white to match my rings. I tried on an alternating pink Sapphire and white Diamond band but it didn't look good with my e-ring. And yup, everyone laughs when they see my ring size. It even fits my nephew's fingers (he's 9 by the way) lol

@ you don't have sausage fingers, size 5.5 is actually below average. I think 6 is the average ring size for women. Haha Iove that story. Just make sure you don't complain about your ring spinning then!

Ever since I got mine resized, it spins less. I had to get my e-ring resized since I apparently lose weight/inches off my fingers first. Why couldn't it have come off my stomach instead? Lol

My ring is a 5.5 and it spins but the 5 was snug! I've always jokes why my ankles and wrists/hands were so petite and I struggled everywhere else. Lol

My BMs husband got a black tungsten ring so she felt she should match. She had her wedding bands done in black diamonds. Looks awesome.

Engagement Photos

I've realized that I haven't posted our engagement photos. Right away, I knew I wanted engagement photos. One, I love photos and believe that it's important to capture memories. Two, I wanted photos of us with our dog, Waffle. We initially chose spring as a good time to take photos so that we can take advantage of the beautiful backdrop cherry blossoms make during the season. Plus, it would look different from our wedding photos which would be more beachy. We scheduled for May but unfortunately because BC summer came earlier this year, we missed out on the cherry blossoms. Instead we chose to highlight the Pacific Westcoast beauty that surrounded us everyday. Here are a few of my favourites (sorry for the photo overload)
