Ugh on the ring! Hope it's back soon. I had a recent issue too. My inspection was good and they sent off to be soldered. At that location (companies manufacturing location) they said a claw was broken and needed to be fixed. ??? Calgary just said it passed inspection so I refused to pay the charge. Ring came back fixed but no soldering lol. Manager was embarrassed. Offered it free but I said maybe another time. I had already been waiting awhile due to another issue with the new additional band I got for my anniversary (phew)

I bought all my wedding signage on Etsy from Nancy at CharmingEndeavours. She's super kind and always prompt. She doesn't show wedding lyric prints on her site but she did have custom postings so I just asked. I asked at the beginning of March and she was swamped and not doing custom work. We decided I'd touch base in April seen as how I was in no hurry and she would do it then. Her prices have gone up but since she told me a lower price before she is honouring it. She told me today she's having trouble keeping up and won't be doing custom work for a bit. If you like her stuff, it can't hurt to ask!

 

Mine has passed every inspection too! I've been so diligent with taking it in and no one even mentioned the issue. Makes you wonder what they're even looking at?! Glad your ring came back fixed at least - too bad about the soldering but at least you have your rings to wear Love that you got an anniversary band. I'm keeping a list of reasons why I want (deserve lol) new bands

@@ashhtayy  Ha Kim beat me to it! I was going to ask on the Etsy vendor too!! I love that idea of the song lyrics! Doug picked the song and picked the Ed Sheeran song (can't remember the name but it's the one everyone likes). I like Janelle's song the "By the Sea" one. But it would still be cool to have the lyrics done up. I'm in no rush either so I can wait. We have our sign that Perian did for us and she put both our wedding year and our anniversary year on it for us. I love it! So it would be totally cool to be able to have lyrics as well.

 

I'm so sorry about your ring. That totally sucks! I hope they get it done in time for your shower!

 

Get your dress out of that store for sure! I would be looking for somewhere else absolutely! If they're jerking you around at this point I wouldn't want to deal with them anymore. 

 

Love the bowties! And the pink colour! Doug would never wear a bowtie even though I think they're very cool. He's strictly a straight tie type of guy. lol

@@acw271011 Thanks Ann. I really hope the bow ties aren't that pink as they are a bit bright for me (even though I'm not wearing them lol). They shipped today so hopefully I can report back soon.

 

Dress / Belt Update

 

I was at a conference today in Woodbridge that happened to be seconds from my dress shop. Since I hadn't heard back I decided to pop in. To my surprise all my alterations were complete. They apologized for their poor communication and promised everything would work out. Blah blah blah. There are a million bridal stores in that plaza so I went to all of them looking for a belt. I walked into Tres Chic Couture and the owner and dress designer was there. He was so sweet! He makes all his own dresses and brought me out samples of belts. I decided to purchase a piece that will be sewn into my dress. I totally overpaid BUT at least it wasn't $400 like the belt I originally wanted. Because the store was so close to my dress shop, I ran over and got my dress and tried them both on together. I love the look!

 

Here is a picture of the $400 belt and a shot of my new belt. I have an alterations appointment on Saturday and they will sew my belt on to the dress and continue with the additional alterations I need.

 

 

Maraca Update

 

They arrived! I ordered on the 31st and they were on my doorstep today. Very quick turnaround. I'm super happy with them and would 100% order from Amols again.

@ashhtayy  I love the belt!! It's gorgeous!!! It will look great on your dress. I super, super LOVE the peachy/pinky colour of the maracas. I ordered ours from Amols as well (doesn't everyone?) and they turned out great. I ordered white, turquoise blue and hot pink.

@@acw271011 Thank you! And how could you not order from Amols? The prices are great! I need to start working on the tag for the maracas now. Probably something simple like "Shake for a kiss" and then "M & A June 7th, 2016".

 

@@calgarybride2015 You made me look twice at my counter lol Two months tomorrow I went back to your thread before ordering and looked at your pictures for inspiration! And now that they're here and in my hands I love them even more than I thought I would.

 

My MOH is actually adorable. My girls are keeping all the details of my shower and bachelorette so quiet! I love how sneaky they're trying to be lol I called my MOH yesterday and asked for some details like time lol and she said I've ruined her plan - she was writing me a poem with the details haha She sent it tonight...

@@ashhtayy I can send you my tag if you want. I didn't just do the "Shake for a Kiss". I did the little nicer one that says "Instead of tapping on your glass". It's already set up in the Avery format. I can bring one on Friday if you want to have a look.

@@ashhtayy how have I missed so much?!?! The bow ties are so cute! I love your first dance, that's what I'm walking down the aisle to, not a twilight fan either (although I will guilty pleasure watch it if it's on TV), it's just such a beautiful song!
