Hello! I am now 100% confused by STD and Invitations since we have decided to have an at home reception .... We will be getting married June 10, 2016 in Playa Del Carmen with our families and a small group of friends. After we return, we plan on having a larger reception with our extended friends/family at an undetermined location. I want to get our STDs out to our wedding group so they can begin planning, but don't know how/when I should then send invites to the AHR guests. I don't want people to think that I am not inviting them at all, I just have not made official plans for our reception at this time. What is the best way to handle this?!

@@mrswadle I personally didnt do this but a friend of mine who just got married last year did and I helped her organize the invites. What she did was at the same time she sent out STD for the DW to those she wanted to attend that. she also sent out STD for AHR to those that she planned to invite to that. When 6 months came to the AHR she then sent them invites with meal selections etc. So they were always " invited" but just not to the DW. the way we managed the envelopes coming back and who was invited to what was by the color of the return envelopes. The DW RSVP was returned in blue and AHR RSVP was in Green. At the DW she placed invites to AHR to those that attend the DW so they also could attend that if they wished. It all worked out for her. a bit confusing but she was able to manage.

I hope that may help..
