Our group rate was $1250pp for June which is pretty great!  Our travel agent was also able to get us land only group rates (Hotel only) for $800 pp.  

 

I can totally see how your rate for march would be $1750 and it seems good considering it's a popular time of year to get away...especially if you have -1 weather in July.  

 

I did notice that prices were more expensive this year compared to the year before...I guess it's normal since the airport taxes went up etc etc...probably a good idea to lock down your group rate as I could see prices going up even more with the Canadian dollar not doing so great.  

 

One thing we didn't do, but I recommend doing, is opening up a US account so that you try to buy some US money when it's a little more on the reasonable side.  When we signed our contract the Canadian and US were at par...a year later and we had to add 20% to our budget just to account for the US dollar...it kinda screwed us a little with our budget but what can you do.  It was still great!

I'd pack my bags tomorrow if I could lol. Fiance is living an hour and a half away but I'm moving up with him in November Can't wait!

 

Yes the price is great from westjet but the booking date is a bit soon for us since we aren't announcing anything until September and they want deposits by the 22nd of August. We'll have to get another quote in September and hope it doesn't go up too much

The other option is for us to pay $5000 in deposits for 10 rooms and then hope they all book. Which I think they will but I hate to commit our $ with no guarantee of it.

Yeah it's been a pretty miserable summer here

 

I wish we could go during an off time but my fiance is a teacher and he's limited with his time off. Spring break kind of works best for all of our crowd since my fiance and dad are not a fan of too much heat (good thing with the weather here!)

 

My aunt lives in the states, I wonder can she open an account and do it for me, she does a lot of cross border banking. Hmm I'll have to check into it Thanks for the tip.

I'm pretty sure you can open up a US account with any Canadian bank.  I am with RBC and TD and we are able to open up a U.S account.  It's basically an account where you can save up some American money that if the exchange rate goes up you don't really lose money on having to buy it later because you have it saved in your us account.  People often just deposit their US monies after they come back from vacation instead of converting and withdraw in U.S when they need it again.  

 

I should probably open mine as we will be travelling for sure in the next few years.  lol

@steelbride We are paying $1610 in beginning of December and that's the best we could get! I originally wanted to go in October but it was $200 cheaper to go in December! We wanted to get the costs down as much as possible so we are going Wednesday to Wednesday as that also brought the price down a lot. We found westjet to be the most expensive though so I think your group rate is pretty good with them, especially that time of year! We are flying with sunwing. Oh and that rate is for platinum. Our whole grip is staying platinum

That's a good rate for platinum. The basic junior suite rate is 1750$pp with west jet. I'm going to have to get another quote next month though since we can't make the deadline for the deposits for this one

 

Sunwing rates were way higher, 2010$pp for the basic suite again. Air Canada was crazy 2500$pp. 

 

Hopefully the rate won't go up drastically in a month lol. I have my fingers crossed anyway !

Our photographer just had a skype session with us and showed of 800 pictures of our wedding!  

So many good ones, not sure where to start.  I don't have them all yet as he's narrowing it down to 100 for our wedding album.
