What Should I Write My Vows On?

Hi all!

 

My FI and I have written our own vows for our ceremony. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions about what kind of paper (or something else) we should write/print them on? I don't know if we'll look goofy standing up there with a piece of computer paper!

 

Also, do you have any thoughts on who should hold them or where we should put them during the ceremony? I was thinking the best man could hold them, but that would mean they would have to be folded up in his pocket somehow, so I don't know if that would look bad. I've tried researching this but I haven't seen too much information on how other people go about this. Any thoughts?

A lot of brides on here recently have been buying vow books. Another bride got a journal from Chapters that is hard covered. Do a quick Etsy search and you will probably find numerous ideas.

 

Couple ideas for who has them. What about a close family member who is sitting in the front row. They won't be walking down the isle as a part of the wedding party but are close by to hand them off.

Another idea would be to give them to the WC the morning of and she can get them onto the table you will be standing at with the minister. Assuming you have a table.

One of my bridesmaids gifted me our vows books as our engagement gift and she purchased them on etsy through the same vendor that Perianjay used!  The vendor has a lot of cute designs and custom options!

@@veryvalentine @ Ahh I wish I knew there was such a thing as vow books, those are so cute - we leave Sunday so I don't think they'd get here in time I'll hunt around and see if anyone has super fast shipping!

 

@@calgarybride2015 I think we have a table so that's a good idea, that way they won't be all crumpled up in someone's pocket!

If you did leave them with family, just make sure they know you don't want them stuffed in their pocket! Even give them to them in a nice envelope to make your point!

 

If you go the WC route just ensure she secures them or gives them to the Minister if it is windy out!  My guess is she would hang on to them until the Minister arrived and hand them off.

I'm going the vows book route but it's too bad you're leaving so soon. Wonder if you might find an Etsy seller that's local or could do an overnight. Also since its a trend what about checking a David's bridal store? They seem to have a bunch of small accessories things right in store.

@@acw271011 thank you, and I definitely will! Very nervous and excited!

 

Even though its a little too late to order a vow booklet, you guys inspired me with the book idea, since holding a piece of paper just never seemed like a good idea...I think I'm going to get us each a nice moleskin notebook in our wedding colors (pink for me, orange for him) and write them in there so we have something nice and sturdy to hold. Plus, that way we can make edits and changes while we're there and just rewrite them and bookmark the right page. I'll see if we can leave them on the table under the arch, or have someone in the front hand them to us.

I love the ceremony books! Ive put my order in already thanx @!! But now that you mention this @@rachelia160 the groom will have pockets or even the best man will have pockets to hold the grooms book. But what about my book? Who should hold the brides book? Usually the maid of honor will hold the brides bouquet and pass her the vows when she needs them but where would she put the book? hmm......maybe the best man should hold both of them ?

I got mine at chapters/indigo. It's a cute little journal, about the size of my iphone 5. I was thinking the other day that I'll write my vows as the first thing, and then keep the rest as a journal of our first year together. I think it will be nice to go back years from now and relive that . I still have my journals from when I was a kid and oh my, they crack me up hahah. 

 

I was also thinking of putting them on the table so no one has to carry them. I'll post a picture in a bit. I realized I never downloaded it from my phone, so I'll post it from there
