So this post isn't really wedding related, but I just wanted to share anyways.  On Friday, I met up with about 8 brides from the forum that live around the GTA.  It was amazing that so many ladies came out and it was incredible to meet them in person.  I was really nervous prior to meeting everyone.  It felt like going on a blind date, only with 8 people.  I was really hoping that everyone would like me.  All of the girls were incredible, kind, and genuine, it didn't feel weird at all and it felt so natural.  I feel like we all connect on this forum and become friends even though some of us never meet.  When I read planning threads or posts I feel like I connect with other brides;I worry when they do, feel their joys, and share in their sorrows.  I feel like we all form a community and a deep bond as well.  Hope I don't sound creepy, but I love the community here and I do care about every single bride on this forum even if we are hundreds of miles away and even if we never meet.  I hope that I get to see some of the brides I met up with on Friday again and I would love to meet every bride on this forum.  Thank you to everyone who reads my planning thread and every bride or member that has replied to a topic I started or a post I made.  I honestly couldn't do this without you!     

 

 

I totally agree! Friday night was a great night and I hope it can be arranged again! We needed better seating arrangements I think - like @@snswedding2016 said, a round table - so that everyone could talk. It's hard on a bench like we had. You end up just with a few people to chat to.

 

By the way - what happened to your dress pic!! lol You said you would post one! I posted my shoes.....  You were absolutely gorgeous! You'll make a stunning bride!!

@@diadiamond that is soo lovely! I really wish I could have been there to meet all of you wonderful people ....Unfortunately it was just a little far to get to from the UK!

 

Even though I don't say much on the forum everyone on here is a god send....and so amazingly creative! I love reading about everyone and feel like I know you all xx

 

Any way.... enough slushy stuff....your date is coming around quickly! I am so excited for you xx

I was just reading through your planning thread and stumbled upon the last entry.  That was so nice of you to write.  It was lovely meeting you.  I do wish I had a chance to chat with you more and the other half of the table.  @@snswedding2016 round tables are a must, absolutely.

 

Diadiamond, I didn't realize how quickly  your wedding is coming up.   It's like a month away, wow.  THANK YOU for taking time out of your busy planning days to meet with us.  It was nice reading your post as it just shows how much of a sincere and genuine person you are.  Wishing you all the best and hopefully the next time we all get together we get to hear about your wedding!

Awe that's sweet. Not creepy at all, I'd go more sappy! And I'm sappy so it's all good. I totally agree with you. We understand eachother in ways other people can't. It's a great forum and I've made some great e-friends hehe.

Aww thanks hun!  You're amazing and we all wished that you could have been there with us, but you're all the way in Calgary!  Maybe next time we can skype with some of the West coast brides.

@@maybeoneday yes - the UK does make it a bit hard to join us! But hopefully we'll get a chance to meet up in Mexico right after your wedding! I hope those plans can come together! We're confirmed to arrive on Oct 18th! You haven't posted much lately - hope all is going well!

@@acw271011 I totally agree on the round table next time lol.  I'm thinking to request round tables for my wedding dinner.  I will post it later tonight for sure.  I just have to upload the picture from my phone to my computer. Thank you for the compliment your reaction totally made me want to cry.  I LOVE your shoes by the way.  The colour is incredible and they look comfy for heels.

 

For those of you feeling a little lost  @@acw271011 and I live close to each other and we both just happened to have appointments at David's Bridal at the same time (she was picking up her shoes and I was going to pick up my dress).  It was amazing to run into her and she got to see my dress and all my accessories aside from my veil and I got to see her shoes.  I felt really lucky to run into her because it felt like I had one of my friends there to give me an opinion on my dress.  .  I feel like we've known each other for a very long time lol.    

@@maybeoneday Thanks hun!  This forum is awesome and I literally couldn't have planned my wedding without it.  I wish you could have been there too.  I'm so excited, yet nervous at the same time about my wedding.  I feel like there's still so much to do, just all the little things though.  I'm hoping that this week won't be as busy at work so I can get home early to work on everything.

 

Your wedding is coming up quite soon too!  You must be so excited.

Aww now you've made me cry!! That's so nice of you to say! It was such a surprise to run in to you! But I'm glad I did! You looked so stunning in your dress - it suits you perfectly!! Your jewellery is gorgeous! I love it! It was fun for me to get to see you in your dress! When my daughter got married, she was 2 hours away so it was just too much to get too involved with all of her planning. We basically just paid as she asked. Plus, she's a bit unorthodox and wore a brown wedding dress with a light blue sash. I was so disappointed that was what she wanted to wear but that's her. She didn't want a wedding dress, or at least not a traditional white/ivory one. So I missed out on that stuff even if I am the "wicked step-mom" lol Seeing you in your dress was definitely special!

Hey everyone!  So I'm finally home from work and finally have some down time to be on the forum.  Yesterday was my final fitting and I got to take my dress home.  Everything went really well!  I have to say I'm really impressed with David's Bridal.  They really took care of me and everything went smoothly.  They understood my vision and helped me achieve it.  My dress fits like a glove and I'm really happy with it!  I forgot to bring my veil, but I was able to try on my dress and accessories.  It's real ladies!  This is it!  Now my fear is that I need to stay the size I am so my dress still fits perfectly the day of.  It's going to be a challenge since I've been so stressed out.
