When Does The Sun Set In Feb In Cabo?

Recommended Posts

Hello fellow Cabo brides! :) I am getting married at the Riu Santa Fe on Feb 1st 2016. Does anyone know when the sun sets this time of year? We have booked out ceremony on the beach at 4:00 but now I am having second thoughts about the time. I would love to get some beautiful sunset photos and also be down on the beach enjoying a champagne toast with all of our guests as the sun is setting! Any information of advice from anyone who has travelled to Cabo this time of year is greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!!

Hi @@Victoriabride I checked online and on Feb 1, sunset is supposed to be around 6 pm http://www.timeanddate.com/sun/mexico/cabo-san-lucas?month=2&year=2016

According to a number of photographers, ideal light is an hour before sunset so in your case, 5 pm is ideal for photos. Keep in mind that sunsets there are not like ours here, it comes and goes quite quickly. Basically the sun sets really fast and it's dark out before you know it!

I can't speak for Cabo but I was told the PV sunsets are the nice ones like here. The RM loses light like NOW. Definatley ask your photographer for their opinion :)

@@calgarybride2015 I was in PV last year and to me it seemed like the sunsets were pretty quick! They were beautiful! But I agree, wedding coordinators or even photographers in cabo would be the best to ask

I could be wrong I just swear my photographer told me that. Don't trust me on this one whatsoever.

Thanks for the tips ladies! I am thinking I might want to change my ceremony to 5:00 then as I hear the ceremony is super short and I don't want people to have to wait around for 2 hours while we wait for the sunset for pictures!

I think you have the right Idea with a 4pm ceremony. I think if you move it to 5 you'll leave yourself short for time for your photos. Even a short ceremony will be 15 to 20 minutes, then you'll have the hugs and kisses after that will take 10 minutes or so. That leaves you just a half hour for pictures, then the sun will be down. I wouldn't think that would be enough time to get all your shots and be down on the beach with a glass of champagne. Just my thinking but absolutely check with your photographer.
