Barcelo Maya Palace Deluxe - Maya Mall

Mexico brides!  I have a question, has anyone ever been to the Maya Mall at the Barcelo resorts?

 

I am curious if it's just a mall for clothing or is there a market as well that I can purchase some local wedding favours for my guests.  I ordered some starfish from the US and now I'm worried that a) they will not get delivered to me in Canada as d'uh they were an animal and I probably won't be able to bring them in to Mexico.  I am not too upset by this as I will gladly keep them all for my Christmas tree!

 

However, I still would like to have a nice gift for my guests and why not support the locals and save on filling my luggage!

 

Any information would be greatly appreciated!  Thank you!!

I am getting married at the palace and apparently there is a gift shop in the lobby area each of the hotels as well as the Maya mall. I specifically asked my wedding coordinator if they sold maracas and she responded back with pricing. I'm assuming they sell all sorts of souvenirs.

I haven't gotten to that step with my wedding coordinator yet.  Right now I am on the seating plan step.  I have to say I have had great service so far from our WC we are working with Tania D.

We got married at the Barcelo Maya Palace Deluxe in June 2015. We found that Octavio's prices were FAR better and more affordable than the resort photographer. Even though you have to pay an outside vendor fee at the resort, we found that it was still cheaper to use Octavio....and you get so many more pictures and options. The resort photographer is honestly too expensive for getting hardly any pictures. The pictures came out amazing. We got everything that we asked for! Octavio was always available for questions and always answered quickly. It is very hard to plan a wedding from afar, but Octavio made it simple! I had no doubt that working with him would be wonderful, and it really was everything I hoped for!

This is an affordable option that will still maintain quality photography! I will be getting married at the Barcelo Maya Palace on 5/12/16 and one of my requirements was that the photographer had been to the resort before. After looking through the albums I am really looking forward to working with Octavio in May!

I know im probably too late for the first posts wedding, but the mall is not a typical mall. It does have many stores to shop and haggle pricing. You can easily buy a gift to give all your guests and probably talk them down!

 

I've been to barcelo beach riveria maya twice and can give lots of pointers!
