I Am An Adopted Bride; Need A Song To Dance With My Uncle

Hello!

 

I am getting married at the Riu Montego Bay May 6th,2015

 

As I stated in the title I was adopted at the age of 9 by a single mother. My uncle has been my father figure and has helped me through a lot in my life! A lot of the traditional saints talk about father daughter situations or first born situations lol. I was thinking of doing the song "My Wish" but am open to other suggestions!

That's an awesome choice!

I had chosen my wish originally because it didn't talk about birth or being a daughter; since he isn't my father just the closest thing I've ever had for one

The other song I had thought of since we are both target shooters and I grew up on the farm was "cleaning this gun", which would be a fun song for both of us

I just know I'm going to tear up no matter the song since my life wasn't what it was meant to be until I was 9 and finally met my mother; and was accepted by a family. There aren't many songs that can represent that!

I was thinking of doing something similar but my mom would hate it; she doesn't like being the focal point of things. So I was thinking of saying a speech incorporating the fact that I wouldn't be who I am today without her and that she took a chance 13 years ago adopting an older child; but by doing so saved my life and gave me a chance. I don't even know what I looked like as a baby! Earliest picture I have of myself is from when I was 6 years old. A very unique situation so I just want my song to be unique as well ️
