Snswedding2016 Planning Thread - Jan 9 2016 (Azul Fives)

@ Ah! That's awesome!  :) Are you guys doing anything? We're just popping a bottle of champagne tonight!

I know that once we're married we'll just celebrate our wedding anniversary so this year of engagement I've been making a point of celebrating every date possible - haha! I told Sean I can come up with 5 worthy anniversary dates - what we call our 'courtship' date (lol - it's when it all started on the dance floor but we didn't actually start dating yet), our first date, our proposal, our legal ceremony and our wedding in Mexico - he just laughed and said "of course you can come up with 5..."  :P

Flowers:

I got my real touch flowers today!!! They look beautiful.....except that the flowers that I thought would look blue look purple....

Not quite sure what to do. Is it a big enough deal that it will look really out of place to have slightly purple flowers when everything else has blue in it. I knew it wouldn't look bright blue (which is good because that isn't what I wanted) but they definitely look purple.

Here is what the real bouquet looks like:

...and this is what I thought they would look like:

The colour is just slightly off but off enough to make it look purple. What do you ladies think? Is it horrible if I just leave them?? I kind of don't have the energy to send it back and wait for it to be remade (If she'll do it) and then wait for her to send it back out. Am I just being too lazy?? I need an outside perspective.

Here are the corsages...

They are beautiful :)

I can totally see how you think they look purple. Here is my advice -- will you regret it after your wedding that you wanted them more blue? If yes, I'd see if she can exchange them. If not then roll with it. You will probably be the only person who notices :) they are gorgeous either way!

@ Thanks! Yes, I ordered them online from Bloom Bridal. Do you think the bouquet will look out of place looking slightly purple with everything else blue? I really like the colour too and hope it will look ok.

I ended up not ordering boutonnieres. I got the name from Lily's planning thread and in her review she was saying how she got all the groomsmen boutonnieres but they thought they looked weird so they didn't wear them. After reading that I thought our guys might do the same...haha so I just decided to save the money! I'm going to get Sean one to wear and that's it.  :)

@@calgarybride2015 I agree - I doubt people will notice. Ok that makes me feel better because I do genuinely love the look of the bouquet! I also can't be really bothered at this point to go back and forth over something so small.

I agree with the other ladies, I think your bouquet looks beautiful. I don't think anyone will really notice the very subtle purple tone. Like Kim said, unless they bother you a lot, I don't think it's worth it. They really are beautiful already

Thanks ladies for all your input! I'm going to stick with them - they are beautiful and purple is my favourite colour so it works out! haha

Decor DIY Projects

I started working on my letters last night. Can I just say that I wish Sean and I had a less curvy first initial - gah!! Why couldn't our names start with 'L' or "M"....the curves were killing me last night. Anyway I finished the first 'S' and I'm really happy with the way it turned out. There are a couple of wrinkles in the paper but I actually think it works with the book pages. I also didn't have to destroy any books. I found some great paper at Michaels - some with written text, some that look like old letters and some vintage paper as well.
