Meandhim - Grand Palladium Bavaro - Nov 2015

Recommended Posts

My fiance is the one that keeps me sane when I go store after store looking for a size 5 or 5 1/2 shoe and no one has any haha.

Now that I discovered Nordstrom and their beautiful shoes I might have to buy more from there haha.

Since my first dress was so inexpensive I decided that I wanted a second, shorter dress for the reception so I could dance a fast Irish waltz with my dad and not have to wear high heels. I bought this one at David’s Bridal for $79 and I want a sparkly belt  to replace the ribbon.

@@Meandhim - I am just reading through your planning thread now, so a little late to the party! I love both your dresses, but especially your reception dress. This is actually very similar to what I want for our ceremony! When did you buy it? I don't see if on the David's Bridal web site. Love your colours as well, which are basically the same as mine  ;) (at least I think - I haven't completely nailed it down yet), except I'll go more purple than pink.

They still sell the dress... I bought it last spring I think...it seems to be more expensive now.

Here's the link to the dress

It's a different model wearing it than the picture I have.

Oh, LOL I have that dress pinned. In your photo I couldn't see the embellishments on the skirt so I thought they were different. I'm just starting to look at dresses now, so will have to check out David's  :)

P.S. Love the shoes. I esp like the wedges. I'm gonna check those out for me, too! Perhaps we will end up as twins  :P

Awww - You give me too much credit! It was a no brainer to help you out! As I said, it is just too bad it was my fiance who was going to Toronto instead of me so we couldn't meet up! But he was glad to bring them to you and your thank you gifts were NOT NECESSARY but SUPER SWEET! :)

I agree about the helpfulness of this site though. As I mentioned to you, I didn't start a planning thread because I thought how much less-creative and interesting my stuff is than most of the other ladies, but now I kind of wish I had because it is so nice to get the feedback and support on things as you go! Now I'm only 6 weeks away and in crunch time! I'll have to keep paying it forward when I get back and maybe I'll do a post-wedding thread with all my details in case they help someone!

SHOES!!!! And The Reason This Site / Fourm Is AWESOME!

So the first pair of shoes I bought were these from Payless last summer, they still have them this year:

I thought they were so pretty then I saw these at payless:

I tried them on and really liked them but I didn't buy them because I technically already had shoes and I was trying to resist the urge to buy more wedding stuff because I felt like I was just buying too much stuff and all the money going out was over whelming...well this was a HUGE MISTAKE! My money anxiety had passed and I still wanted the shoes, so I went back to get them....SOLD OUT...I went to every store I could find in Toronto! I called all my bridesmaids and they were sold out in their cities as well! Online was sold out as well! I went online to this forum and posted a Vent / Cry for help to see if any Brides in the GTA area could keep an eye out for me or if anyone had a suggestion for a similar shoe. I got a lot of great suggestions from all the helpful ladies on here.

Which lead me to these shoes at the shoe company:

These are not as high as the wedges (Thank god!) they have a little bit of sparkle and they are very cute and comfortable. But I can't really dance in heals and I still couldn't stop thinking about those other shoes. I went back to my post to read the reply's for more suggestions but what I saw was even better! A reply I had missed from @@beckys98 ! How the heck did I miss that! She had saw they were in stock in my size close to her work and her FI was coming to Toronto in a few weeks and I could get them from him!

I messaged her right away and she got them for me!!!! How nice is that! What an awesome thing for a person to do! For someone they don't even know!! In another Country!! I can not even express how THANKFUL I truly am!! Today I picked up said shoes from beckys98's FI and he is a super sweetheart, he is so excited for his own wedding in 40 or so days! I wish them both a wonderful wedding week with their friends and family when their time arrives and a long happy life together after that.

This is why this site is so awesome! You meet people who are willing to go out of their way to help you. People who will listen to your crazy rants and give you advice to help clam you. People who understand what you are going through no matter how big or small the issue and give you words of comfort and encouragement. People to bounce idea's off of / share ideas and experience with. I am thankful for all of the lovely ladies I have had the pleasure of talking to on here!

Now back to the shoes...I decided to keep the first pair to wear to my friends wedding in July and maybe my legal ceremony, the shiny heals I will wear them with my long dress for the ceremony...and for my first dance with my FI...he is so tall it'll put us on even ground sort of. As for my favorite Sparkly shoes I will wear them for the rest of the night as I dance my ass off with my friends and family! Thank you again @@beckys98 !!
