I Leave For Mexico In 30 Days!

Recommended Posts

@@calgarybride2015 omg i didnt even think of immunizations? i didnt think you needed any of that stuff to go to mexico??? i leave in 30 days!!

I've been to Mexico 3 times and have never went for extra vaccinations before going. I say, as long as you are up to date on everything, you should be good.

Just keep plugging away!! I had a list and just kept crossing things off. Get your favors and gifts so you can start packing them -- if you are done with it, pack it. Makes the last week less stressful. Remember to organize your receipts and print your wedding paperwork - I printed the odd email that had a price in it that I wanted guaranteed but since I had my bill already it wasn't really needed. Also I made a list of what was in each suitcase and the quantities incase we did get checked at customs.

Make any appointments you may need - nails, waxing, hair, etc. Ensure you have your final dress fitting and pick up set.

It's just the time to tie up loose ends but the more you do now the less stress you'll feel the last week. Yay so exciting. Good luck.

If you plan to get vaccinations, they usually recommend 2-4 weeks before your trip. I'm going to check to make sure and also get some anti-nausea medicine JIC.

@@hellosassypants Unless you are looking for zofran, reglan, phenergan, etc, you can by buy dramamine OTC  ;). Personally, I think dramamine works just as great. I used it when I went on a sunset cruise on a sailboat and when I was on a bigger boat to go out snorkeling.

My kids aren't old enough for hep a and b so they needed it. Also came to find out I didn't have hep a either which are both needed for any tropical place. I also wanted ducoral just in case hehe

I have used the OTC when we went on some cruises awhile back but it never worked for me. :( I know Zoran works for me because it helped me with my first trimester when I was pregnant and it doesn't make me sleepy.

Same! I took my daughter to her well last month and we got her up to date on her vaccinations before we are leaving. :) Although she wasn't a happy camper that day!  ^_^

I'm a nurse too!!! And they only wanted hep b apparently because I have no record of ever getting hep a.

Like many of the ladies above mentioned, the last month was consumed with lists! LOL I am not sure who suggested this idea from this site (Sorry!) but I took her advice...I made a wall of post its. Each post it had a task on it and as each thing got done, I got to rip off the post it and throw it out which feels extremely rewarding btw. I am super visual so it helped to see exactly what needed to get done and FI gained responsibility to help with the tasks as well since he couldn't say he didn't know what to do.

I also packed all of my wedding supplies/crafts in one suitcase pretty early on. I had a folder inside with all my receipts, a wedding invitation, and a note in Spanish explaining what the items were for. Luckily, we didn't need it.

I also prepared a wedding binder type thing that ended up being really useful. I purchased an accordion style folder/binder. I organized all my paperwork by theme. I printed the final email with my WC with all my selections (made it very easy to review with her), copies of our travel insurance, copies of the readings for the ceremony, back up copies of the seating arrangements, rooming list, travel documents, basically anything that would be helpful to have from my laptop at home.

Plan out all your appointments. The last few days before you leave are hectic so if you have a game plan in place, it helps.

Most of all, SUPER IMPORTANT, have fun and enjoy this time. I know everyone says it, but you will blink and the day will be long gone and you'll be wishing you could go back to this point.

Great advice!!!  I am going to start packing soon and I love the idea of organizing all the paper work.  I should start doing that now.

I think I was the bride that inspired your post-it wall.  I love taking them off too!!!!  Sometimes I keep them off to the side just to remember what I already did do.  I'm a visual person too and it has helped out immensely.
