I Said "yes" To The Dress

Hello to all my newbies

 

I know I am jumping ahead of myself, but I do not get married until July2, 2016, but guess what? I went dress shopping today and I said, "yes" to my dress. I am very simple minded, so it did not take much. I am getting married In Playa del Carmen on the beach and didn't want to spend a lot on my dress. I did still want to look elegant and I tried on 2 and I made my decision on the 2nd dress. I knew it was for me. Now, I can move on start with the other little things. When I was in the bridal shop the lady that hleped me stated I did right with dress shopping because at least you have that out of the way. Any newbies out there that has jumped the gun like me?

And congrats too on getting your dress already! The salon was right. It's one more thing out of the way. Take some time to read through the different things that are available on this site. You'll find the ladies here more than willing to share tips and ideas.

So nice to have the dress. Now the key I heard is stop looking to help stop any second guessing. But since you only tried on two I'm thinking you have that down pat! What kind of dress did you get?

 

Our wedding is November 2016 and I ended up going dress shopping just to try on silhouettes and see what works for me cause Im usually not a dressy girl. Found a gorgeous dress that I love, it was a little over my price range though and the store manager, not my consultant who was very nice, was very PUSHY which I did not like. Telling me if I wake up tomorrow it could be discontinued. She told me this a few times. I did not appreciate this and I'm just going to let it simmer for now. If the dress is still around by the end of the year I will try it on again(at a different store) or see what else is out there. Trying to have fun with this experience and not let anyone stress me out (cause I'm sure my family will be doing that enough! lol)

We've been looking at locations for 4 months now and still undecided (getting close!) I can't even imagine what will happen when I finally go dress shopping! You're so lucky you're done with that!!

@@dwesle we got engaged June 2014, I bought my beautiful wedding dress in October 2014 and we're getting married January 2016

 

I wasn't expecting to say yes to the dress so early but a local bridal shop was having a sample sale and I thought it wouldn't hurt to go. I too didn't want to break the bank on my dress. I told the consultant it was my first fitting and had noticed which silhouette would work for me. As she was talking, one dress caught my eye and I immediately grabbed it and asked to try it on. Lo and behold, the first dress I tried on was the one! I tried on 4 more dresses afterwards with different silhouettes and textures but none compared to the first dress. So I tried it on again and happily said yes to the dress and at 30% off, that was the cherry on top!

 

To date I still love the dress and have not had any regrets. The hardest thing is maintaining the same size to save costs in alterations lol

@ I went with a ruffled ballgown I absolutely fell in love with the ruffles and the champagne colour. For a ballgown, it's not heavy so that's great. I'll see if I can find a pic of it online and email it to you! The mermaid style will look so beautiful on you since you're tall and gorgeous I tried on a trumpet and it was my second choice.

 

Sample sales are great, I'm glad we both benefitted from them lol.

I got mine as well and we're not planning on getting married until May 2016!

 

I went with my best friend who is also getting married, she tried on about 25 dresses, needed a break and pushed me to try one on and it was the dress!  I went back the following weekend with my mom and sister to try on a few more but went with the original one in the end that I fell in love with (and it was such an amazing price).  I want to wear it every day! lol
