Carry On Or Luggage To Be Checked In

Recommended Posts

Okay, 52 days till I'm in Mexico for my wedding.

I have collected all the decorations that I need.  Patron bottles, fake flowers, loteria cards, virgin mary candles, "mexican" restaurant candles, and xmas lights.

I am really concerned on how I will get this glass over without it being broken, but I have a bit of a lot. 8 patron bottles, 8 mary candles, and 8 restaurant candle votives.

At my work we get deliviries weekly, of plastic type balloon bag things to prevent anything breaking.  Would it be useful to use these and check in my luggage or do carry on?

I'm just worried that if I get a smaller suitcase, I will not be able to get all the stuff over.

I'm also concerned that if I do carry on through customs, I will get hassled due to not having all my recipes for my purchases.  If the products are open, will that make it easier? How can you sell open products?

AAAAAAHHH! HELP

I am bringing a ton of glassware and breakable things over..the key is in the packing. Lucky I am getting married to an engineer to help pack the stuff. I think it is way too much for any carry on. We bought ginormous duffles (as long as they are 50 lbs we can check them ) and stuffed them with the stuff....the way we prevented breaks was by very careful packing. Things were wrapped in tissue/bubble wrap etc and then packaged in boxes. Bubble wrap padding the boxes inside the duffle. So yes, we are checking 150lbs of just decorations not counting our clothes bags etc. Hope this works!

Hi Lydia

Congrats on your upcoming wedding!  I`m  just curious- What are you doing with the loteria cards.  We love that game and didn`t even think of incorporating in our week.  would love to hear what you are doing!  :)
