@@calgarybride2015 I've been feeling guilty too, but more about the whole week and not spending enough time with people... For example I think I talked to DHs moms friend like twice the whole week lol

It's tough for sure. I have some regrets about it too but overall I think you do the best you can do!!!

Flower Crown

Supplies from Michael's using my 40% off coupon...a few times.  he he

I used 3 different stems of flowers.  Medium sized flower filler, a larger statement flower with smaller filler

I used garden wire from dollarama and 18 gage wire to wrap the flowers around the crown with some florist tape as well and ribbon to secure the back.  I watched a lot of tutorial videos online as well.  I sort of applied different methods into my own.

I really like it!  It's my first one, I may make some for my BMs, not sure yet.

I was just talking to a friend over the weekend about this and telling him that I'm already stressing out about spending time with everyone. He said that when he traveled back home to Guatemala he had this long list of people he wanted to see. He said for some he only had about 15 minutes, but he made sure to have a one on one with them and they were super appreciative of it, not matter how long it was. That made me think that maybe we're too hard on ourselves and literally expect the impossible (which is to spend a lot of time with each guest) but people will be happy to get your full attention even if it's for a short period of time. Everyone I've talked to says the same thing, they know it's a very busy week for you and you're trying your best :)

I am not getting married until November and I am stressing about this as well. I have been trying to talk to some friends and family about how I am going to try my best but I am fearful that there wont be enough of me to go around throughout the week. I am also trying to stress to them that this is their vacation and I encourage them to treat it as such. Do excursions and go on adventures. I just hope I manage to have a moment with everyone.

The tough part is, is that some people you just won't see. We had people literally go off and do their own thing every day! They treated it like their own vacation - as they should - but that means we only saw them in passing. Ie - husbands brother and sister in law. So while we got to speak to everyone at some point, some we just didn't get to spend time with. We always made sure to talk to everyone as we saw them though. Also people realize it's your wedding and know you are busy -- we had people not ask much of us because they thought this. While true on the wedding day, not so much for the week. Unfortunately we also had the drama girl and people avoiding us because of her (haha wish they knew we were avoiding her too :( )I have no regrets about the week as we did the best we could given people were all over - some people left the resort daily!! But I do feel bad about the wedding reception itself. But I guess that's why the week long trips are great. You have 8 days to talk not just 8 hours :) ack!!! Just do the best you can.

@@calgarybride2015   I'm sure your guests were totally fine with it!  I have been on the other side of a destination wedding where I was the guest.  I didn't monopolize the bride's time as I knew she was super busy and had a lot of other people to visit with.  The Bride and Groom made dinner reservations with different guests during the week.  They tried to do group dinners with a few couples to visit with as many people as possible.  I'm going to try to do that with our dinners.  Breakfast and lunch are less predictable.  We have room service so I may not bother to leave the room.  lol

We are also staying for 10 days so we will meet with our WC the few days that we arrive early and get all our errands done in those days so when people do arrive we will be more chilled out and prepared.

@@calgarybride2015 I'm sure that for those who spent the whole week out of the resort they understand that there's not much more you could do.

I've been to weddings where the bride and groom just went around and asked us if we were enjoying ourselves but that's it. Maybe we spent a minute with them, and everyone in our table. Then we had a blast on the dancefloor. I didn't see that as bad at all or that they weren't trying hard enough. I also understand that they want to enjoy their wedding instead of stressing out about how much time they spent with guests haha. I'm sure you did fine and guests are happy with how you handled things.

Flower Crown

This was such a fun DIY project.  I've been meaning to have an excuse to make one and wear one for a while.

I bought way too many supplies for this project.  Initially I spent about $40 but I'm going to return about half of the flowers I bought so it probably cost me about $20 and I still have left over materials to use to make other crowns.  I will probably make one for the flower girl and maybe the other bridesmaids.  Not sure as they are a little time consuming.  They would make for awesome pictures though.  Just not sure if everyone would want to wear them.

thank you @@snswedding2016     :D

I love it too!  It is so easy to make and so fun!  I looked at so many different tutorials.  I didn't use a glue gun.  I just felt like it wouldn't hold up.  I used a combination of different ways to wire the flowers but I found this one helped me out the most.

Good luck with the project if you end up doing it.  We should start a flower crown business when we are done with our weddings!  lol  @
