Resorts That Don't Charge Outside Vendor Fees?

Hey ladies!

Does anyone know of any resorts that won't charge outside vendor fees or tends to be lenient on the charge? I'm trying to factor in all of my costs when making a decision and ultimately things such as photography, hair/makeup are extremely important so it HAS to be done right. From the reviews it looks as if a lot of ppl use outside vendors.

Unfortunately most resorts do charge vendor fees!  It's a way to price gouge us brides.  I know some brides have gone off resort successfully - I do sometimes wish I had explored that option more, but I was in a time crunch

We've made a list of our wedding couples' experiences with resort charges for outside vendor fees here: Resort Policies

We've also recently revised our price packages to give wedding couples a break to assist them in dealing with those outside vendor fees :)

Wishing everyone happy research, and all the best with their plans - cheers! team MTM :)

...and some photos of magical wedding "moments that matter" for added inspiration...with more at the album link here: Barcelo Maya Colonial Wedding Album....enjoy!!!

@@Moments That Matter

Thanks for sharing I knew that I had seen a list out there, perhaps one from yourself. It was very helpful to me when I was in the early stages of planning!!

Ultimately, we decided off resort and couldn't be happier!

Surprisingly it has been mostly easy planning and allows for me to have a wedding I truly envisioned at a price point we can afford!

One way I got out of the vendor fee at my resort was booking my vendors a one night stay. It cost me $400 for my photographer and his assistant to stay at the resort for the night, as opposed to the $800 vendor fee + $100 each day pass ($1000)

I'm getting married at Palace also (Moon, not Beach). How did this work since theyre telling me anyone that is part of the wedding has to stay a 3-night min?

thanks

yeah, I don't know if I've ever seen a resort that didn't charge for an outside vendor. depending on how good your room rates are, though, usually if they stay 3 nights, they waive the fee. for my wedding, the 3 night price is $250 less than the vendor fee so it works out well!
