You are a fitness tech nerd lol

I love my polar FT4! In pink of course. Haven't met the goal for the fitbit yet but hopefully soon!

Not sure I mentioned it above but got a nike Fuelband for Xmas 2 years ago. Pointless. we sold them lol

Bahaha I used to love map my run until I would walk down my stairs and it said I ran 1k so I reinstalled and had no luck. So turned to a nike app that tracks it. Have you had that problem @@yycbride2016

@@calgarybride2015 That's so strange that it says you ran 1km when you go down the stairs. I've never had that issue. Now with my GPS watch I don't even have to open up the MapMyRun app to get it going. Once i'm done my run, I stop my watch and sync it to my phone and then it auomatically posts my stats to MapMyRun and adjusts my calories in MyFitnessPal. I tried running both MapMyRun and my watch and they were ever so slightly different in distances so I decided to just use my watch.

Thats the same Polar HR I have. Excpet When I got it, I didn't see the pink one :( So sad I missed out. Oh well. Its great when you have fresh batteries in both the strap and watch. I went a long time without using it because it kept disconnecting during my workouts. It was really frustrating. But I put new batteries in both and now it works again.

I've never had any issues with mine! But good to know if I do! I had to order the pink from their website. Also had to re order a new chest probe when mine fell in the toilet. Was nice I didn't need to buy the whole package with watch again.

Ya it was silly how it was calculating. Couldn't ever figure it out! Ah well.

how does the polar tracker work? I realized after wearing my mom's fitbit for a while that I like it more when I can just track my workouts. That's all I need really. So you have a watch and a chest strap? Is that uncomfortable?

Yes it's a watch and a chest strap. I don't find it uncomfortable as it's adjustable. From my research the chest strap is the only accurate continuous monitoring. The watch makes you reset it as your intensity changes. Well my girlfriends did anyways so that was a little turn off for me. I could be wrong and I'm sure things change daily so technology may have changed. I have the polar FT4 and believe I paid around $150.

that's what I've read too, that the chest strap is the most accurate. There's also so many polar trackers out there I was a bit lost haha

I think the Garmin ones are really pricey and you usually dont use all of the available functionality on it anyways so its overpriced for that reason. I'd got with a polar hr monitor watch & strap! Its true, Straps are the most accurate way to track your heart rate and calorie burn through your workouts. If you just plan to track workouts then go with something like that but the Fitbit its more for continuous throught the day tracking. I still wear my fitbit while i workout and use a hr monitor as well. (Fitbit has a leaderboard for steps and I'm always trying to win..)

I mean.... it's on my phone.  And don't get me wrong, I went from 179 to 139.  But I'm back up to about 147 and not feeling very motivated.  You would think I would feel MORE motivated with our date booked etc.  Sigh.  I'm trying to recapture that mindset I felt when I first started out.  It seems to be eluding me.
