Hello ladies,

Congratulations to all!  I'm getting married at the Finest on 12/13/15.  Booked the wedding date and reserved a block of rooms. Planning to have a ceremony on the beach.  Not sure about the reception yet, we'll probably have 80+ people.  I was told that the Finest and Excellence resorts share the meeting/conference space, which is big enough to accommodate a large group. Bringing my own photographer but not sure what to do for video yet.  I'm a little concerned that the video vendor the hotel provides has zero reviews.

The centerpieces are a little pricey so I'm thinking of shipping a box with supplies there and making my own (something simple and beachy, like a large candle in a vase with some sand and sea shells).

I just booked a mini vacation to the Finest for the last week of May.  Going to meet with the wedding coordinator and hopefully reserve the reception space.  If anyone wants pictures of specific areas let me know.  :)

Hi Everyone

I got married at the Finest Playa Mujeres on April 24 - it was perfect!!

A couple of tips :)

If you are getting married on the beach request the side of the beach by the stone gazebo, if you are getting married on the beach between the Excellence and Finest you will probably find a lot of beach goers standing around in their bathing suits watching (and ending up in the photos). There is no resort on the left side of Finest so that area is more quiet and will be more private.

Request the Sky Bar for your reception - it is beautiful!!

The flowers are pricey but are beyond anything that I would have imagined!! Worth every penny - so beautiful!!

Do not use the hotels wedding photographer - spend the money and hire one from outside the resort (you do have to pay $500 as an outside vendor fee, but these are photos you will look at forever so you should definitely want the quality). I hired Sascha Gluck - he is AMAZING (check him out on facebook or google - he is worth hiring!!)

The food is very good. Service is great.

DJ is fantastic. There were some complaints that they shut us down at 11pm but I was fine with that. Be aware that this is not a "party" resort, if your guests want to party they will have to go into Cancun as all the bars at the resort shut down by 1am. We had no issues with this.

Congratulations Jeanine!  You looked amazing.  Was the photographer reasonably priced?  Most photographers I looked into were $4k and up for 8 hours.  Who did you use for video?  (if you had one)

Thanks!

Just so everyone should know - the new wedding coordinator is Viviana (in case you were speaking with Andrea, she no longer works there). And Teresa looks over all of the Excellence properties.

We used Sascha Gluck - Cancunphotos. He was amazing!!! Honestly you get what you pay for - and I think the photographs are worth it (and so is video) as it will be the one piece that you will have to remember the day from forever!

He was reasonably priced (~2500 for 5 hours).

We did hire a videographer too - Gallardo Films. They are expensive, but the one thing I have learned from my friends weddings (and now my own) is that the day is a blur and it is great to have someone there capturing all the moments and all the speeches!

We also did pay extra for the linens that were strung up on the gazebo as I was very particular about how I wanted things to look.
