Newbie Looking To Get Married In Mexico!

Hi all...I just got engaged on New Years Day and I'm so excited/stressed in wedding planning!  My fiance and I would love a destination wedding and were looking into Cancun/Riviera Maya.  We both have big families and both have 8 groomsmen and bridesmaids, so thinking we'll have about 100 guests attending, including children.  I spoke to my wedding specialist today and she recommends Azul Fives and I have been looking at Moon Palace.

Any suggestions/recommendations would be greatly appreciated! :)

Thanks!

Congrats and welcome to the site! Both of those suggestions are good ones in terms of resorts and both have a ton of information here. Definitely look through the forums for the resorts and read what past brides have had to say. I can almost guarantee that any questions you have, someone else has asked them and the answers are likely here! lol

Take a look through the resort reviews too. Everyone is different in terms of what they want, or what they expect but the resort reviews will give you an idea.

Definitely a great travel agent is a must as well. Not sure where you are but if the US, there is a fantastic TA affiliated with this site that are DW specialists - Wright Travel. If in Canada, there are different agents that the ladies have recommended.

Good luck!

Congrats on the engagement!!  We're doing Mexico as well, likely the Puerto/Nuevo Vallarta area, but there seems to be quite a few people going to Riviera Maya so I'm sure you'll find tons of helpful advice.  Happy planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
