Jsav? Psav? (Cancun)

Recommended Posts

So I wanted to hireDJ Discomovil for my Cancun wedding. I've ready great reviews on here and he has been very responsive. Unfortunately,  he is now unavailable for my wedding date. I haven't been able to get in contact with DJMannia, my second choice (they haven't responded to my emails). So, I think I'm left with the Palace approved vendors (JSAV & PSAV). At first, my WC only told me about JSAV. Their prices are OUTRAGEOUS (like 2-3X the price of doscomovil). I told her I can't afford them. She then sent me prices for PSAV, wich are much more reasonable (something like 1,300 for 4 hours with full DJ service). I'm concerned because the price for PSAV is so much cheaper (which is a good thing... but makes me question why?) and it was the resort's second recommendation, not first. Neither PSAV nor JSAV are on the vendor review list here and I'm having trouble finding anything online about them. Does anyone have any insight or past experience with either company?

I did a quick forum search and there are a couple of things that came up in the search that you may want to read. Just go to the top and key in the name. Most of the comments seem to be in connection to a Moon Palace forum, not sure why.

Good luck.

@@LauraM I hired dj discomovil but i wanted to compare prices with psav and jsav to see if it's worth it after all the fees. Jsav is outrageously expensive. Psav has not sent me a price list yet. I keep asking them for it. My coordinator provided me with both psav and jsav for music btw. I guess it just depends on who your coordinator is.

I've hired PSAV for my wedding. The manager/coordinator, Carlos, has been a dream to deal with! He responds within minutes to any questions I have, gives me any info I need to know, and is very friendly.  My wedding isn't for 13 months but he's already sent me a song sheet for what to play for first dance, father/bride dance, etc.  He knows I'm eager and is happy to work with. And yes, like you said - much more reasonably priced. I'd recommend them :)
